Issue Certificate of Maintenance – A summary of the activity
This activity helps you to issue a Certificate of Maintenance (CoM). CoM is a document, which is generated to certify the maintenance work, such as overhaul, repair, modification or replacement, executed on an item. CoM is issued in situations where the maintenance work executed on an item affects another employee’s work, directly or indirectly and hence requires certification by an authority.
You can issue a CoM, after all the tasks in the component work order are completed and the tasks for which sign-off is required is signed-off.
Note: However, if the tasks in the component work order are not yet signed off or completed, you can issue the certificate of maintenance under the following circumstances:
If the component work order is raised against a component that is attached to a position code with attachment status “Error”.
If the component work order is raised against a component that has child components attached to a position code with attachment status “Error”.
If no components are attached to the mandatory position codes of the aircraft, but the attachment status of the position codes is “Unknown”, “New” or “Error”.
CoM is issued by a set of skilled employees, who executed the maintenance work on the component. An authorized person should ensure that the maintenance work performed by a set of skilled employees is carried out properly before issuing CoM.
The “Component Work Order Selection” page allows you to specify the search criteria to select the component work order for which you need to issue CoM. The “View Sign-Off Information” page allows you to view the sign-off details for the selected component work order. The “Certificate of Maintenance” page allows you to create, authorize or cancel a CoM for the selected component work order.
