Selecting position code for defining schedules
In this page you can select the position code and the associated part number for which the schedule details must be defined. Tell me more.
Select the “Maintain Position Based Schedule” link under the “Component Maintenance Program” business component.
The “Select Position – Part #” page appears.
Enter the following in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for a position code. Data entry in the following fields is optional:
Aircraft Model # |
The number identifying the aircraft model (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using “*” character. The system retrieves the position codes that are associated with the aircraft model selected here. |
Configuration Class |
Use the drop-down list box to select the configuration class. The system retrieves the position code associated with the configuration class selected here. Leave this field blank to search for the position code irrespective of the configuration class. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Level Code |
The level code for which the position code and its associated part number must be retrieved (Alphanumeric, 150). |
Position Code |
The position code for which the maintenance program must be defined (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the position codes, which are similar to the code entered here. |
Part # |
The part number for which the position code details are to be retrieved (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the position codes with which this part is associated. |
ATA # |
The ATA chapter for which the position code details are to be retrieved (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the position codes that are associated with the ATA chapter. |
Part Description |
The description for the part of which the position code details are to be retrieved (Alphanumeric, 40). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the position codes associated with the parts having description similar to what you specify. |
Schedule Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the schedule status of the position code of which you want to retrieve details. The drop-own list box displays the following: "Fresh", "Active" and, "Inactive". The system retrieves the position codes with the schedule status that you select from the drop-down list box. To retrieve all position codes regardless of the schedule status, do not specify any schedule status. |
Program Defined? |
Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether maintenance program has already been defined for the position code that you want to retrieve. If you select “Yes”, the system retrieves those position codes that have pre-defined maintenance programs. To identify position codes with no specific maintenance programs, select “No”. To retrieve position codes with or without predefined maintenance programs, do not specify any value in the drop-down list box. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search result.
The system retrieves the position details and part number of the alternate parts defined for the position code and reference number combination in “Configuration“ business component and “Part Administration” business component, along with the logical configuration from the “Aircraft” business component.
The system also retrieves the position and part number details for the schedules entered by the user for a given reference part number and for “Aircraft Model #/Configuration Class/Level Code/Position Code” combination.
If the option setting “Planner Group Security” is set as “Required” in the Set Options activity, then the system retrieves only those parts associated to the Planner group to which the login user has been mapped.
The system displays the following in the “Search Details” multiline based on the filter criteria specified:
Aircraft Model # |
The number identifying the aircraft model with which the position code is associated. |
Configuration Class |
The configuration class associated with the aircraft model. |
Level Code |
The level number of the position code and its associated part number. |
Position Code |
The position code retrieved by the system. |
Part # |
The number identifying the part associated with the position code. |
ATA # |
The ATA chapter number associated with the position code. |
Schedule Status |
The schedule status of the position code, which could be “Fresh”, "Active" or “Inactive”. |
Program Defined? |
Indicates whether the part program has been defined for the part number. |
Schedule Info |
Indicates whether the schedule details have been defined for the position code and the part number. The system displays
Otherwise the system leaves the field blank. |
Part Description |
The short name or description of the part. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the position code for which the schedule details must be updated.
Select the “Edit Date Based Schedules” link below the multiline to update the date-based schedule details.
Select the “Edit Usage Based Schedules” link below the multiline to update the usage-based schedule details.
Select the “Define Aircraft Effectivity” link below the multiline to update the aircraft effectivity details.
Enter the following details in the “Create Schedules For Alternate Part Sub-Assembly Position” group box to maintain position-based schedule for alternate parts defined in the"Part Administration" business component, and not available in the configuration:
Aircraft Model # |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the aircraft model. The system lists all the active aircraft models defined in the “Aircraft” business component. The system leaves this field blank by default. |
Configuration Class |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the configuration class. The system lists all the active configuration classes for the selected aircraft model. The system leaves this field blank by default. |
Level Code |
The level number of the position code and its associated alternate part number (Alphanumeric, 150). Help facility available. |
Position Code |
The position code for which the maintenance program must be defined (Alphanumeric, 25). Help facility available. |
Part # |
The number identifying the alternate part associated with the position code (Alphanumeric, 40). The number entered here should be a valid part number defined in the “Part Administration” business component and should be in “Active” status. Help facility available. |
Note: Ensure that the part number is of the type “Component”.

Select the “Define Aircraft Effectivity” link at the bottom of the page to update the aircraft effectivity details.
Selecting position code for defining schedules – An overview
In this page you can select the position code and the associated part number for which the schedule details must be defined. You can carry out a search based on the aircraft model, configuration class, level code position code, part number or ATA chapter with which the position code is associated. Based on the search criteria specified, the system displays the position code and the associated part number details.
