Creating component information – An overview

Create Component Record - A summary of the activity

Every part consists of identifiable units called components. APU, Landing Gear are the example for components. When the component ID generation for a part is set as “Manual”, you can use this page to manually enter the IDs for the components belonging to the part and associate other attributes for the components. The component ID must be created as a combination of the prefix, which is defined in the “Maintain Maintenance Info. For Part” activity, and any other alphabets or numbers.

You can also generate the component ID automatically for the components listed in the multiline. You can associate the component to a component family and thereby inherit certain attributes and parameters that are defined for the component family. You can enter the component family number directly or select a component family using the help facility. The date on which the component was inducted and the date on which the component was put to operation can also be specified. The organizational unit in which the maintenance activities can be carried out on the component must be identified as the maintenance base for the component, along with the planner who plans the maintenance activities. Details of the component such as its condition, ownership,  mode of possession, owning agency and engagement type can also be specified.
