Basics of using a typical web page

Using Online Help

This page allows you to add or modify technical and attribute parameters for the selected component. The technical and attribute parameters defined for the part, are displayed and the system allows you to add new parameters for the selected component in the multiline. For attribute parameters, the present value and the parameter source must be specified, to indicate the mode or source from which the parameter value must be updated.

Date & Time Format

The format in which the date and time fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date and time format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default.

The system displays the following in the “Component Details” group box:

Component #

The component selected in the main page, for which the technical and attribute parameters must be defined.

Part #

The part to which the component belongs.

Note

Mfr. Part #

The manufacturer part number of the component.

Mfr. #

The manufacturer number of the component.

Note

Part Serial #

The serial number for the component.

Part Description

The description of the part.

The system lists the technical and attribute parameters of the component family to which the part is associated in the “Parameter Details” multiline.

Parameter

The identifier of the parameter (Alphanumeric, 40). Ensure that the parameter is of type “Technical” or “Attribute” and is already defined in the “Create Parameters” activity. Ensure that the parameter number is unique in the multiline.

Help facility available.

The system displays the following details in the “Parameter Details” multiline on clicking the “Edit Parameters” pushbutton:

UOM

The unit of measurement of the parameter. The system leaves the field blank for an attribute parameter.

Parameter Type

The type of the parameter, which can be “Technical” or “Attribute”.

Parameter Source

Use the drop-down list box to select the parameter source from which the parameter value of the attribute parameter must be updated. The system provides the options “Flight Log”, “Manual”, “Parent” and “Calculated”. The system displays blank  by default.

  • Flight Log - Indicates that the parameter value has to be updated from the flight log.

  • Manual - Indicates that the parameter value has to be updated manually.

  • Parent - Indicates that the parameter value has to be updated from the parameter source defined for the parent component.

  • Calculated - indicates that the parameter value is updated based on the formula associated to the parameter. This formula depicts the mathematical relationship of the parameter with the participating parameters. When one or all the participating parameters are updated, the formula based parameter will be automatically updated.

The system displays the following fields in the multiline on clicking the “Edit Parameters” pushbutton:

Present Value

The value of the parameter.

As of Date

The date on which the parameter value was recorded.

As Of Time

The time at which the parameter value was recorded.

Parameter Description

The textual description of the parameter.

Note: Ensure that atleast one attribute or technical parameter is entered in the multiline.

Note: The system attaches the technical and attribute parameters to the selected component for the rows that are not marked for deletion. The system attaches the parameters defined for the component family to the component, on clicking the “Update Parameters” button.
