Basics of using a typical web page

Using online help

This page allows you to modify the rule assigned to the depreciation book. You can also delete the rule assigned to the book through this page. On selection of the depreciation book, the system retrieves the depreciation rules assigned to it based on the selection. You can modify the depreciation rule and the effective date of the assignment.

The system updates the status of the assignment to “Inactive” on deleting. The system also updates the login ID of the user to the last modified by and the system date to the last modified date. The system also displays the creation history of the assignment.

The “Edit Assigned Rule” page appears.

Depreciation Book Code

Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the depreciation book. The system loads the “Corporate”, “Tax” and other depreciation book codes for selection. The system displays “Corporate” by default on launch of the page.

 

Press the <Enter> key. 

The system retrieves the depreciation category, which have been mapped to the book selected.

Depreciation Category

Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the depreciation category. The system lists all the depreciation category that are in “Active” status and that have been mapped to the depreciation book selected. The system displays the first depreciation category by default on launch of the page.

 

Press <Enter> key. The system retrieves the description based on the depreciation category selected.

The system displays the following field:

Depreciation Category Description

The textual description pertaining to the depreciation category.

Note: The system displays the “Active” depreciation rule for the depreciation rule and category.

Depreciation Rule No.

The number identifying the depreciation rule (Integer). Mandatory. The depreciation rule must have been defined in the “Create Depreciation Setup” activity of this business component.

 

Help facility available.

Effective From Date

The date from which the assignment is effective (Date Format). Mandatory. The date entered here must be greater than or equal to the effective date of the depreciation rule. The date entered must be the start date of the “Active” financial period for the depreciation book selected.

Note: The effective date must be later than the date on which the Fixed Asset is installed.

Atleast one depreciation rule must be assigned to depreciation book.

The system displays the following field:

Expiration  Date

The date till which the assignment is valid.

The system updates the status to “Inactive”.

The system updates the login ID of the user who deleted the assignment to the last modified by and the system date to the last modified date.

The system also displays the creation history of the assignments.

The system saves the modification made in “Active” status.

The system updates the login ID of the user to the last modified by and the system date to the last modified date.

The system also displays the creation history of the assignments.

The system displays the following fields:

Created By

The login ID of the user who created the assignment.

Created Date

The date on which the assignment was established between the depreciation book and the rule.

Last Modified By

The login ID of the user who last modified the assignment.

Last Modified Date

The date on which the assignment was last modified.

To proceed, carry out the following
