This page allows you to view the depreciation rule. You can select the asset class code and view the depreciation rules defined for it. You can also specify the way in which the details must be grouped for viewing. You can view the code identifying the depreciation rule, the effective period of the rule, the textual description pertaining to the depreciation rule, method in which the depreciation is calculated, the depreciation rate and the convention followed during depreciating.
Select the “View Rules” link at the bottom of the “Create Depreciation Rule” page.
The “View Depreciation Rules” page appears.
Enter the following fields:
Asset Class Code |
Use the drop-down list box to select the code identifying the asset class. The system loads all the asset class defined in the “Create Asset Class” activity of the “Asset Type Definition” business component, for selection. The system displays the first asset class by default on launch of the page. |
Sort By |
Use the drop-down list box to select the way in which the rule details must be retrieved in the multiline. You can sort the details based on the depreciation rule, method, basis, depreciation rate and depreciation convention. |
Click the “Get Details” pushbutton to retrieve the details.
The system displays the following fields in the “Depreciation Rules” multiline.
Depreciation Rule No. |
The number identifying the depreciation rule. |
Effective From Date |
The date from which the depreciation rule is effective. |
Rule Description |
The textual description pertaining to the depreciation rule. |
Method |
The method in which the depreciation is calculated which could be “Straight Line”, “Diminishing Balance Method” or the “Sum of Years Digits” method. |
Basis |
The basis on which the depreciation is calculated. The depreciation can be calculated based on the acquisition cost of the asset or the acquisition cost after deducting the salvage. |
Depreciation Rate |
The rate in which the depreciation must be charges on an asset. |
Depreciation Convention |
The convention, which is followed while depreciating, which could be prorates, mid-year, mid-period or the user defined convention. |
