This page is used to capture the basic information required to manufacture a part, like ‘Mfr. UOM’, ‘Lead Time’, ‘Mfr. Valuation Method’ (Stock Valuation), ‘Default Work Center’, etc. Certificate details required to issue for the finished parts are also defined in this page.

The “Maintain Manufacturing Information” page appears.

Note: You can invoke this page only if the source for the part is selected as “Make”.

Part Information

The system displays the following in the “Part Information” group box:

Part #

The number identifying the part to be manufactured.

Part Type

The type of the part.

Planning Status

The Planning Status of the part which could be “Active”, “Inactive” or “Fresh”.

Part Description

The textual description of the part.

General Information

Manufacturing UoM

The unit of measurement defined for the manufactured part. Stock UOM will be copied. Mandatory.

Help facility available.

Lead Time

The lead time for defined manufacturing the part. Use the drop-down list box provided alongside and select the lead time as “Days”. “Weeks”, “Months” or “Years”.

Mfr. Valuation Method

Use the drop-down list box to select the valuation method adopted by the manufacturer for the valuation of the part. The drop-down list box displays “Standard” or “Actual”.

Serial / Lot # Logic

Use the drop-down list and select the method for generating Mfr. serial number / lot number. The system lists the values “Automatic Generation” and “Manual”.

Sl. No. Type Numbering

Use the drop-down list box to select the numbering type for the part serial number. The system lists all the “Active” numbering types set for the “Mfr. Serial No. Generation” transaction type in the “Document Numbering Class” business component.

You must select a value in this field, if the ‘Serial / Lot # Logic’ is selected as “Automatic Generation”.

Lot. No. Type Numbering

Use the drop-down list box to select the numbering type for the lot number of the part. The system lists all the “Active” numbering types set for the “Manufacturer Lot No. Generation” transaction type in the “Document Numbering Class” business component.

You must select a value in this field, if the ‘Serial / Lot # Logic’ is selected as “Automatic Generation”.

Phantom Part

Check this box to indicate whether the part is a phantom part. This box must not be selected for Stockable parts and parts with Part Source as “Purchase”.

Operational Information

Planner Code

The code identifying the planner responsible for manufacturing part. Mandatory. The planner code entered here must be ‘Active’.

The system displays the following:

Planner Name

The name of the planner.

Role Mapped

Use the drop-down list box and select the roles that are mapped to access the part manufacturing information.

Default Exe. Doc. Type

Use the drop-down list box and select the default execution document for part manufacture. Mandatory. The system lists all the values that are defined for the entity for which Job Type is set as 'Make' under Entity Type ' Shop Work order Type' in the “Common Master” business component.

Execution Facility

Use the drop-down list box and select the execution facility defined for part manufacture as one of the following: “In-House”, “Outsource”, “In-House and Outsource”.

Product Structure Information

Mandatory?

Use the drop-down list and select “Yes” to indicate that it is mandatory to provide product structure information in the “Manage Product Structure” screen before creating make work order. It is not mandatory to provide product structure information to create make work order, if you select “No”.  

Modification in WO?

Use the drop-down list box and select “Allowed” if modification of product structure information is allowed in the work order. Else select “Not Allowed”.

Usage of PMA Parts?

Use the drop-down list and select “Yes” or “No” to indicate whether the part is a Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) part. PMA parts are those parts which are not manufactured and supplied by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), but by an external source, with the approval of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Configuration Tracked?

Use the drop-down list and select “Yes” or “No” to indicate whether configuration is tracked for the part or not.

Process Plan Information

Mandatory?

Use the drop-down list and select “Yes” to indicate that it is mandatory to provide process plan information in the “Manage Product Structure” screen while creating make work order. It is not mandatory to provide product structure information to create make work order, if you select “No”.

Modification in WO?

Use the drop-down list box and select “Allowed” if modification of process plan information is allowed in the work order. Else select “Not Allowed”.

The date on which the manufacturing information was created.

The name of the user who last modified the manufacturing information.

Last Modified Date

The date on which the manufacturing information was last modified.

Source

The source OU from which the manufacturing information are replicated.

Owner
