Maintain Planning Information – A summary of the activity

This activity allows you to add or modify the planning information for a newly created part. You can also copy the planning information from a different organization unit.

The planning information of the part can be specified for each location. Planning information include the planning method, reordering details and the warehousing details of a part. Based on this information, the purchase and sales information of the part is updated.

Note: A part can be used in transactions only when the planning status of the part is “Active”.

The “Select Part #” page allows you to search and select a part for updating its planning information. The “Maintain Planning Information” page allows you to update the planning details of the selected part. The “Maintain Purchase Information”, “Maintain Sales Information” and the “Maintain UOM Conversion” pages allow you to update the purchase, sales and the UOM conversion information of the part.

You are provided with Help facility for selecting the material controller, the standard warehouse, the unit of measurement and the standard supplier.

Maintain planning information

Planning information include the planning method, reordering details and the warehousing details of a part. Based on this information, the purchase and sales information of the part is updated.

Maintain purchase information

The purchase information of the part can be entered when the source of the part is specified as ‘purchase’ in the “Maintain Planning Information“ activity.

Maintain sales information

The sales information can be entered when the usage of the part is specified as ‘saleable’ in the “Maintain Planning Information“ activity.

Maintain UOM conversion

While there can be multiple UOMs defined for a part, only one conversion factor can be defined for a given combination of UOMs. You can enter the unit of measurement (UOM) conversion factor for a given combination of UOMs, for a selected part.
