In any organization, there is a "reporting to" hierarchy where there are some employees who have subordinates reporting to them. When these employees have an assignment change or they are transferred or promoted or terminated from the organization, then there is a change in the entire "reporting to" structure and this change has to be reflected in the assignment details of the subordinates. The subordinates are assigned to a new supervisor through this activity. Note that even a null supervisor can be assigned to a subordinate employee. Also, an employee assigned to a null supervisor can be reassigned to a new supervisor.
When you assign the subordinates to a new supervisor, details like the supervisor’s employment unit, name, employee code and assignment number must be specified. You can also access Help to specify the supervisor’s profile. You must also specify the date and time from which the new supervisor will take charge over the subordinates.
Through this activity, you can add to or remove employees from the list of subordinates, who will report to the new supervisor. You can add employees by specifying their employee codes or accessing Help. You can also modify the date from which the subordinates must report to the new supervisor.
