Authorizing Employee Separation: Separation refers to the process of the employee services getting terminated or the contract of employment getting over due to resignation, dismissal due to disciplinary action, death, retirement or any other reason. The separation process is carried out in two stages such as, Initiate and Authorize. The HR user initiate the separation process, for employees for whom he/she has the necessary data level security permissions.

Through this activity, the authorizer can authorize the separation process. The separation process can be effected only for regular employees.

Editing Last Available and Separation Dates: The authorizer can edit or veto the last available and separation dates. For example, the authorizer can change the separation date specified by the initiator or even veto the specified date and effect the separation with immediate effect. However, to veto the last available and separation dates and authorize the separation process with immediate effect, the authorizer must indicate that the stipulated notice period has been waived off. Also, the authorizer can decide whether the employee is eligible for rehire or otherwise.

Effecting Backdated Separation: A need may arise to effect the separation of an employee from a date prior to the notified or separation dates. For example,  consider the case when an employee is under suspension and pending inquiry, and according to the applicable rules he is acquitted for misconduct. If a verdict has been passed to terminate his/her services from the reported day of misconduct, then back dated separation must be done to handle this situation.

In addition, you can view the errors and the error types that are encountered, while effecting the separation process for the employee. Also, you can view the exit interview details specified during initiating the separation process as well edit the details.
