This page allows you to modify the selected stock correction document. Tell me more.

The “Edit Stock Correction” page appears.

The system displays the following in the “Correction Information” group box:

Stock Correction #

The number identifying the stock correction document.

Status

Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the stock correction document to be modified. The system lists the following options:

 

  • Draft - The status of the stock correction document when all the mandatory information for the document is not entered.  

 

  • Fresh - The status of the stock correction document when all the mandatory information for the document has been completely entered.

 

The system sets “Draft” by default.

Note: Only “Fresh” stock correction documents can be sent for authorization.

The system displays the following:

Warehouse #

The number indicating the warehouse for which the stock correction document is created.

Correction Type

Use the drop-down list box to modify the stock correction type to one of the following. The system displays all the values as defined in the “ Set Inventory Options” activity of the “Logistic Common Master” business component for the  Stock Correction Basis of the document.

 

  • Quantity - When the stock quantity is to be corrected.

 

  •  Value - When the stock value is to be corrected. The system ensures that for each part in the multiline the “Expensing Policy” is other than “On Receipt” in the interacting “Part Administration” business component.

 

  • Quantity & Value – When the stock,quantity and value are to be corrected.

The system displays the following:

Correction Basis

The basis on which the stock correction is done, which could be “Physical Inventory”, “Cycle Count”, “General” or "Repair Receipt".

If “Repair Receipt” is selected, the system ensures the following:

  • Retrieves Part Control Type and Valuation Method for the specified part number from the Part Data Change # where the part is processed.

  • The “Correction Type”, “ Account Usage”, “Cost Usage”, “Corrected Quantity”, “Stock Status”, “Zone #” or “Bin #” is not modified

  • The Part # is not deleted, modified or added.

Reference Document #

The number identifying the reference document associated with the stock correction document.

Correction Category

Use the drop-down list box to modify the category to which the stock correction document belongs. The system lists only the ‘active’ categories as defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity.

User Status

Use the drop-down list box to modify the user-defined status of the stock correction document. The system lists all the ‘Active’ user statuses as defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity of the current business component. The system displays “Blank” by default

Correction Date

The date on which the stock correction document is raised (Date Format). Mandatory. The correction date must be earlier than or the same as the system date.

Costing Usage

Use the drop down list box to select the type of the costing usage. The system lists all the “Active” user-defined “Usage” as defined in the “Cost Center Rule Definition” business component.

Note: Ensure that the “Costing Usage” is entered for the stock correction document, if any part has the expense type as “Revenue”, or if any part is with issue basis other than “Returnable”.

Account Usage

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the account to be used. The system lists all the “Active” usages defined in the “Account Rule Definition” business component and mapped to the event “Stock Correction”. Ensure that a value is selected in this field, only if the current business component interacts with the “Stock Maintenance” business component.

Apply Default Correction Value

Check this box to set the default correction value for the stock correction document.  This is valid only if

a) the “Correction Type” of the document is set to “Quantity & Value”

 b) the consolidated correction Quantity for all the parts in the stock correction document is positive

c) the valuation method of parts in the stock correction document should be of “Weighted Average” / LIFO / FIFO. 

The system displays the following in the “Parts Information” multiline:

Line #

The sequential number generated by the system for the parts entered in the multiline.

Part #

The number identifying the part (Alphanumeric, 40). Mandatory. This number must have been defined in the “Create Parts Main Information” activity of the “Part Administration” business component and must be in “Active” status.

Ensure that the Part Classification of the Part defined in the “Part Administration” business component is allowed in the Warehouse.

If the Part Classification is set as “None” or not defined in the “Part Administration” business component, then the part is classified as Non-Repairable.

Note: For successful stock correction to happen: 1) The warehouse # must be defined in the “Create Warehouse Information” activity under “Storage Administration” business component. 2) The specified stock status must be allowed for the stock correction transaction, in the “Create User Defined Stock Status” activity under “User Defined Stock Status” business component. 3) The specified part type must be allowed for stock correction in the “Part Type Allowed for Transaction” group box of the “Set Inventory Options” activity in Logistics Common Master.

Select the part # in the “Parts Information” multiline and then click the “Get Parts Information” pushbutton under the multiline to display part details. This will help you ascertain Corrected Quantity for the part #.

The system displays the following:

Part Description

The textual description of the part.

Costing Usage

Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the costing usage. The system lists all the “Active” user-defined “Usage” that are mapped for the event “Stock Correction” in the “Cost Center Rule Definition” business component

Corrected Quantity

The actual physical stock quantity available in the warehouse for that part number, stock status, zone number and bin number. Ensure that this value is not negative.

Note: Ensure that “Corrected Quantity” is entered, if the “Correction Type” is selected as “Quantity” or “Quantity & Value”.

Note: Fractions can be entered in the “Corrected Quantity”, only if the UOM has been set to “Allow fractions” in the “Create UOM” activity of the “Unit of Measurement Administration” business component.

Note: If the set option "Allow Negative Quantity Correction for Allocated stock" is set as ‘No’, in the “Set Inventory Process Parameter” activity of the “Logistics Common Master” business component, then the “Corrected Quantity” should not be less than the ‘Sum of Allocated Quantity’ across all the documents (Issues/Build Kit/Break Kit/Part Sale Packslip/Stock Conversion and other documents) for the Warehouse-Part-Stock Status-Zone-Bin combination.

The system displays the following:

UOM

The unit of measurement in which the part is stocked.

Stock Status

Use the drop-down list box to correct the stock status of the part. The system lists all the stock  statuses for the Part number,  as defined in the “Create User Defined Stock Status” activity of the “User Defined Stock Status” business component.

This table guides you to select the rights stock status.

Zone #

The number identifying the zone in the warehouse (Alphanumeric, 10). Ensure that the zone number is in “Active “ status and defined in the “Create Warehouse Information” activity of the “Storage Administration” business component.

 Bin #

The number identifying the bin in the zone (Alphanumeric, 10). This bin number must be in “Active” status and defined in the “Create Warehouse Information” activity of the “Storage Administration” business component.

Note: Ensure that the “Bin #” is entered under the following circumstances:

1) The correction type is “Quantity” or “Quantity & Value” and the zone is “Normal”.

2) The correction type is “Value”, zone is “Normal” , valuation method is “Actual Costing” and the part is “Serial Controlled” or “Serial & Lot Controlled”.

Note: Leave the warehouse, zone and bin fields blank, if the warehouse is of type “Free”.

Note: For serial number-controlled, lot number-controlled, or both serial number-controlled and lot number-controlled parts with stock status attribute set to “Ownership-Supplier” and “Ownership-Customer” in the “User Defined Stock Status” business component, ensure that the warehouse-zone-bin combination is mapped to the trading partner in the “Maintain External Stock Allocation” page of the “Storage Administration” business component.

Note: For none-controlled parts with stock status attribute set to “Ownership-Supplier” and “Ownership-Customer” in the “User Defined Stock Status” business component, ensure that the warehouse-zone-bin combination is mapped to the trading partner as an exclusive storage category in the “Maintain External Stock Allocation” page of the “Storage Administration” business component.

The system displays the following:

System Stock Quantity

The quantity of the part as maintained in the system. This quantity is displayed for the particular part, stock status, zone and bin.

Reason for Correction

Use the drop-down list box to select the cause of stock correction. The drop-down list box displays all reason codes in ‘Active’ status as defined in the Logistics Common Master component.

Note: This field is mandatory; 1) if the process parameter “Reason for Correction” under Stock Correction category in the Set Inventory Process Parameters activity is set as ‘1’ and, 2) if S/L Detail Link is “Not Applicable”

Remarks

Any additional comment pertaining to the stock correction.

The system displays the following:

Correction Quantity

The quantity of the part calculated by the system as the difference between the corrected quantity and the system quantity, which may be positive quantity or negative quantity.

S/L Detail Link

Indicates whether the “Serial & Lot Details” link is “Applicable” or “Not-Applicable” for the line number. If the details are entered in the “Edit Serial & Lot Details” page, the value will be displayed as “Data Entered”.  For more details on the values displayed in this field, refer to the topic “Link Details

Value Detail Link

Indicates whether the “Value Details” link is “Applicable” or “Not-Applicable” for the line number. If the details are entered in the “Edit Value Details” page, the value will be displayed as “Data Entered”. If the value details are calculated by the System itself, it will be displayed as “System Defaulted”.  For more details on the values displayed in this field, refer to the topic “Link Details”.

Specific Receipts Link

Indicates whether the “Specific Receipts” link is “Applicable” or “Not-Applicable” for the line number. If the details are entered in the “Correct Specific Receipts” page, the value will be displayed as “Data Entered”. If the value details are calculated by the System itself, it will be displayed as “System Defaulted”. For more details on the values displayed in this field, refer to the topic “Link Details”.

Part Control Type

The part control type, which could be “Serial controlled” or “Lot controlled” or “Serial & Lot controlled” or “None”.

Valuation Method

The method in which the costing of the part is done at an inventory location.

 

  • Standard Cost – indicates that the receipts and the issues of a part are always made at the standard cost. In case the unit rate of the part is different from its standard rate, the difference between the rates is posted as price variance of the part.

 

  • LIFO (Last In First Out) - indicates that the parts are issued at the latest price. Issues thereafter are made at previous prices. A strict chronological order is followed.

 

  •  FIFO (First In First Out) – indicates that the parts are issued at the earliest receipt prices. Issues thereafter are made at recent prices. A strict chronological order is followed.

 

  • Actual Cost – indicates that the receipts and issues of a part are always made at the actual cost.

 

  • Weight Average Rate – indicates that the issue rate is calculated as the average of receipt values divided by the receipt quantity

 

Note: You must select “Actual Cost”, if you are creating the stock correction document for supplier-owned valuated parts.

Expensing Policy

The method for clearing off the value of the part from the inventory.

  • On First Issue - indicates that on first issue, the cost of the part will be cleared off.  

  • On Phase Out - indicates that on phase out, the cost of the part will be cleared off.  

  • Core value on Phase Out - indicates that the time life costing parts will become phased out or obsolete when the core value is cleared off.

  • On Receipt – indicates that on receipt, the cost of the part will be cleared off.

User Defined Detail – 1

Any other additional details pertaining to the stock correction (Alphanumeric, 25).

User Defined Detail – 2

Any other additional details pertaining to the stock correction (Alphanumeric, 25).

Comments

Any additional remarks pertaining to the stock correction (Alphanumeric, 255).

File Name

The name of the file used as document reference for stock correction (Alphanumeric, 50).

The system updates  stock correction document status as “Fresh” or “Draft”.

Note: The system does not allow stock correction, if the part/component is a restricted part with a restriction code that has the process parameter “Allow Stock Correction” under the entity type Stock Restriction Code in the Define Process Entities activity set as 0/No during the restriction effective period. However, this process parameter does not impact system-generated stock corrections owing to PDC and PICC transactions.

The system assigns the “Draft” status to the stock correction document under the following circumstances:

For each part in the multiline, the “Non-Stockable” field is set as “No” in the interacting “Part Administration” business component.

For unserviceable parts in Unserviceable warehouses, the system automatically sets the correction value as 0 under the following conditions:

Stock correction for Restricted parts

The system does not allow stock correction, if the part/component is a restricted part with a restriction code that has the process parameter “Allow Stock Correction” under the entity type Stock Restriction Code in the Define Process Entities activity set as 0/No during the restriction effective period. However, this process parameter does not impact system-generated stock corrections owing to PDC and PICC transactions. (You can place restrictions on specific transactions of parts in the “Manage Part Restrictions” activity of Aircraft by associating a restriction code that does not allow these transactions during the period between Effective From and To dates. Restrictions placed on part # via the restriction code apply to all serial #s/lot #s of the part. Restrictions can also be placed on specific serial #/lot # or on a range of serial #s/lot #s of a part. Process parameters of restriction codes are defined in the “Set Process Parameters” page of “Define Process Entities” activity of Common Master.) To cancel the stock correction document

Cancelling stock correction

Note: You cannot cancel the stock correction document, if the Correction Basis is “Repair Receipt”.

The stock correction document status is updated to “Cancelled”.

The system displays the following in the “Record Statistics” group box:

Created By

The name of the user who created the stock correction document.

Created Date

The date on which the stock correction document was created.

Last Modified By

The name of the user who last modified the stock correction document.

Last Modified Date

The date on which the stock correction document was last modified.

Modify the stock correction type

You can modify the stock correction type, for a stock correction document of Correction Basis “General”.

You can modify the stock correction type, for a stock correction document of basis “Physical Inventory” or “Cycle Count”. The default correction type of the correction document, when it is automatically created in the “Physical Inventory & Cycle Count” business component, is “Quantity” and the default document status is “Fresh”. Modifying the stock correction document – An overview

Edit Stock Correction-A summary of the activity

This page allows you to modify the selected stock correction document. Only stock correction documents, which are in the “Draft” or “Fresh” status, can be modified. In this page, you are also provided with the option of canceling the stock correction document. On cancellation, the status of the stock correction document is updated as “Canceled”.

This page allows you to modify the stock correction details such as the date on which the stock correction was done, category of the stock correction, correction type and the user status. You can also modify the part details such as the corrected quantity, stock status of the part and the storage details such as warehouse, zone and bin.
