Aircraft Reliability -An Overview

Airlines capture data relating to aircraft and associated components as part of day-to-day operation and maintenance. This data can be used to track the performance of the aircraft and components by collecting and analyzing certain reliability parameters for reducing the maintenance and inventory cost.

Analysis of this data has an impact on effectivity of reliability programs undertaken by the airlines and also to soften maintenance requirement by regulatory requirements.
