Select one of the following radio buttons in the header in the search section in the left pane:

On selecting various radio buttons, the system displays the records in different status in different format. This is explained in the below table:

Doc. # to retrieve the Engineering Documents matching the search input, in a tree structure. All the search parameters except MCR #, Eng. Doc # / Eng. Doc. subject / MCR / MCR are applicable for both MCR and Eng. Doc. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton or press ‘Enter’ key
On search, the matching records are displayed in the tree, based on the selection of the radio buttons ‘Eng. Doc. / MCR’, ‘MCR’ and ‘Eng. Doc.’. The search also retrieves components from the Impact Assessment documents for which advanced part effectivity has been defined on the basis of the chosen MCR or MCR associated with the EO if the process parameter "Update impacted components from impact assessments to PCR on creation of PCR" under the entity Eng. Doc. Type and the entity All Eng. Doc. in the Define Process Entities activity of Common Master set to 1 for Yes.
Tree Structure
On search, the system displays the matching MCR and
Eng. Doc. records in a tree structure with the folder ‘Engineering Mod’
as a parent node, based on the selection of the radio buttons. MCR and
Engineering document are identified by different icons. A ‘Clip board
with gear’ ‘’ indicates Engineering
document. A simple clipboard ‘
’
indicates MCR document. The records are displayed along with the Revision
# concatenated with the respective MCR / Eng Doc. Description, either
in alphabetical order or in ascending / descending order of Effective
From Date, based on the process parameter defined for the Entity Type
'Eng. Doc Type' under the Entity ‘—All Eng. Doc—‘ in the “Common Master”

Right Pane – Header
The system displays the following fields in the header in the right pane:

Note: By default, on launch of the page, ‘Create’ button appears selected and “Edit” and “Revise” buttons are disabled. The screen is switched to ‘Create’ / ‘Edit’ / ‘Revise’ mode, based on the status of the Eng. Doc. # / MCR selected in the tree.
Create |
Select this radio button to create an engineering document. On selecting an MCR document in the tree, the ‘Create’ radio button is selected by default, to facilitate creation of engineering document. |
Edit |
Select this radio button to edit the engineering document. You can edit the released engineering document without revising, based on the options set in “Common Master” business component. On clicking an engineering document in “Fresh” status, the relevant data are transferred to the left pane and ‘Edit’ radio button will be defaulted. |
Revise |
Select this radio button to revise an engineering document, irrespective of the option setting. On clicking an engineering document in “Release” status, corresponding data gets transferred to the left pane, and the ‘Revise’ radio button is defaulted. |
View |
Select this radio button to review the engineering document. On clicking an engineering document in “Release” status, corresponding data gets transferred to left plane also and ‘Release’ radio button will be defaulted. No transactions are permitted in this mode. |
Viewing Engineering document details
You can view the engineering document details based on the user mapping. When the user mapping is only for the “Manage Engineering Document” activity, the ‘View’ radio button appears alongside the Create / Edit / Revise buttons. In this mode, you can create / edit / revise / view the engineering document.
When the user mapping is for both the “Manage Engineering Document” activity and “View / Manage Engineering Document” activity (Dummy activity), only the ‘View' radio button appears. In the view mode, only the ‘Eng. Doc.’ radio button is enabled. The tree displays all the Eng. Doc. irrespective of the status.
Progress bar
A progress bar is displayed to indicate the completeness of data entry. The progress bar is displayed in two colors:
Green – Indicates that mandatory data has been entered.
Orange – Indicates that mandatory data has not been entered.
To proceed further
Select the “Main” tab to create / edit revise an engineering document.
Select the “Effectivity” tab to defined effectivity details.
Select the “Tasks” tab to define task details.
Select the “Schedules” tab to define schedules for tasks in engineering document.
Select the “References” tab to define reference details.
Select the “More Information” tab to record additional details like cost details, warranty details for the engineering document.
Record Statistics
The system displays the following in the Record Statistics group box:

Links in left pane
Select the following links in the left pane:
Select the “Process Change Request” link to process the change request.
Note: This link is disabled on launch of the page.
Select the “Initialize Eng. Doc. Schedules” link to initialize engineering schedules.
Select the “Edit Configuration Change Details” link to enter the configuration change information for the Engineering Document.
Select the “Confirm New Parts Requirements” link to specify the new parts that are required for executing the Engineering Document.
Select the “Plan Material Requirements” link to specify the parts for which the purchase request must be generated.
Select the “Authorize Engineering Document” link to authorize the engineering document.
Select the “View Authorization Status Log” link to view the authorization status log.
Select the “Release Engineering Document” link to release the engineering document.
Select the “Edit Eng. Notes” link at the bottom of the page to modify the additional notes for the engineering document.
Note: The above link will be available only till the engineering document is in the Fresh status. After the release of the document, the “View Eng. Notes” link will be available.
Select the “Upload Documents” link at the bottom of the page to upload documents.
