Recording task details

Managing Engineering Document

Unified Glossary

Basics of using a typical web page

Using Online Help

This tab facilitates defining task details for an engineering document. You can define “As-Required”, “Perpetual”, Schedule-Tracked and Non-Tracked tasks in a single engineering document. You can also inactivate previous revision of Improvised task on release of the engineering document.

On selecting “Tasks” tab

  1. If the Engineering Document selected is in 'Fresh' or 'Released' Status, the 'Create' radio button is disabled.

  2. If the selected Eng. Doc. # in the header is in 'Released' status, you cannot add / modify tasks in the 'Edit' mode.

  3. The system retrieves and displays ‘Task #’, ‘Task Desc.’, ‘Time Unit’, ‘Est. Elapsed Time’, ‘Est. Man Hrs’ and 'Operation Type' in the multiline, based on the value of the process parameter ‘Auto Task Card Authoring?' set in the “Set Process Parameters” page of the “Common Master” business component.

Note: The screen is switched to ‘Create’ / ‘Edit’ / ‘Revise’ mode, based on the status of the Eng. Doc. # / MCR selected in the tree.

Progress Bar update

For the selected Eng. Doc. # and Rev. #,

  1. If the Task(s) are not defined, the Progress Bar is displayed in 'Orange' Color.

  2. If the Task(s) are defined, the Progress Bar is displayed in 'Green' Color.

Task #

The code identifying the task defined for the Engineering Document - Revision # combination. Mandatory. Ensure that at least one task must be specified for the Engineering Document selected. For each Task # entered, the 'Task Applicability' must be same as the 'Applicability' of the Eng. Doc. #. For example, 'Aircraft Tasks' cannot be entered for 'Eng Doc' of  "Component" Applicability and vice-versa.

If you have set the “Task Classifier” as “Existing” or “Improvised”, the Task # - Revision # combination must have been already defined in the “Maintenance Task” business component. But for new tasks, the Task # - Revision # combination must not have been already defined in the “Maintenance Task” business component.

You cannot modify the Task # that was already associated to the Eng. Doc.
