This tab allows you to define references for the engineering document. You can define an Aircraft applicable Maintenance Change Request (MCR) as reference for a Component / Engine applicable Engineering Documents and vice-versa. You can add / modify References based on the option ‘Mandate Revision on Addition of Reference?’set for Engineering Document Type in the “Common Master” business component.
This tab facilitates to synchronize Process Change Request (PCR) and Engineering document. The PCR of the entered MCR is updated with all the Effectivity List in the “Effectivity” tab, with the working Engineering document reference.
Select the “Reference” tab in the “Manage Eng. Document” page.
Select radio button “MCR”, “Eng. Doc.’ or “Others” to define MCR / Engineering document as references.
References
The system displays the following fields selectively in the “References” multiline, based on the selection of the above-mentioned radio buttons ‘MCR’, ‘Eng. Doc.’ and ‘Others’.
Enter the following:
MCR # |
The reference number of the maintenance change request which needs to be referenced against the engineering document. The MCR # entered here must be valid as defined in the “Engineering Document” business component, and must have at least one effective Maintenance Object. When ‘MCR’ mode is selected, you must enter the MCR #, if Rev # and Processing Comments are entered. You can enter MCR having Applicability different from the Applicability of the Eng. Doc. Note: The applicability of the referenced MCR must also be Component/Engine that is the same as that of the engineering document, if the process parameter "Restrict addition of Aircraft applicable MCR as reference for Component/Engine applicable Eng. Doc." under the entity type "Eng. Doc. Type" and the entity “All User Defined” in the Define Process Parameters activity of Common Master is 1. Similarly, the applicability of the MCR must be Aircraft, the same as that of the engineering document, if the process parameter “Restrict addition of Component/Engine applicable MCR as reference for Aircraft applicable Eng. Doc” is 1. Help facility available. |
Eng. Doc. # |
The engineering document for which the details of the MCR references are being updated. The Eng. Doc. # entered here must be valid as defined in the “Engineering Document” business component, and has Applicability same as the Applicability of the Eng. Doc # in the header. When ‘Eng. Doc.’ mode is selected, you must enter the Eng. Doc. #, if Rev # and Processing Comments are entered. Help facility available. |
Rev # |
The revision number of the engineering document / maintenance change request. You must enter the revision number, if more than one Rev # exist for the MCR # / Eng. Doc. # entered. |
Note: Ensure the following:
MCR # - Rev # and Eng. Doc. # - Rev # are valid documents defined in the “Engineering Document” business component.
MCR # - Rev # must be in “Confirmed”, “Processed” or “Fresh”. MCR in ‘Fresh’ status is allowed only if the ‘MCR Processing Status’ for the MCR Doc Type is set as “Fresh” in the “Edit Maintenance Change Request Document Type” page of the “Common Master” business component.
Eng. Doc. # - Rev # and MCR # - Rev # must not be duplicated in the multiline.
Eng. Doc. # - Rev # must be in “Fresh” or “Released" status.
Ref. Doc. Type |
Use the drop-down list box to select the type of the reference document. Mandatory. The system lists all the document types defined in ‘Active’ status in the "Create Reference Document Type" activity of the “Common Master” business component. By default, the system leaves the field blank. |
Ref. Document # |
The number identifying the document that must be referred during engineering document execution. |
Publications |
The number identifying the publication that is affected due to the engineering document execution. (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Chapter-Section |
The number identifying the chapter-section that is affected due to the engineering document execution (Alphanumeric, 40). |
Processing Comments |
Textual comments on the association of the maintenance change request to the engineering document. Data entry in this field is mandatory, if MCR # and Rev # are entered. On updating engineering document effectivity in “Update Eng. Doc. Effectivity” page, the system updates the processing comments. Example. |
Note: Document # or Publications or Chapter-Section must be entered, if Ref. Doc Type is selected.
The system displays the following:
Subject |
The textual description of the engineering document. |
Associated By / Date |
The login user id of the employee using the engineering document which is referenced to the MCR / The date on which the engineering document was referenced to the MCR.
|
Addl. Info. |
Additional information, if any. |
Ref. Type |
Indicates whether the engineering document is created with reference to MCR. The system displays one of the following:
|
Enter the following:
File Name |
The name of the file that contains the engineering document details (Alphanumeric, 40). Help facility available |
Enter the following below the multiline:
Revision Comments |
Any remarks entered during revision of the engineering document. You must enter the revision comments, on revising the Eng. Doc. #. |
Note: Ensure that at least one record is available in the multiline.
To proceed
Click the “Save” pushbutton to record the MCR reference details.
Note: The system displays an error message, if any concurrent use attempts to modify the details of the Eng. Doc. and MCR details.
You cannot revise an engineering document which is in “Fresh” status.
The system performs the following on updating the reference details:
The system allows you to save / modify MCR / Eng. Doc. details, only if the process parameter 'Engineering Document Revision Policy' for the Eng. Doc is set as 'As per Revision Rules’. The details are saved or modified without the revision of the Eng. Doc. and depends on the vaue of the process parameter 'Mandate Revision on addition of reference', as shown below:
Process parameter ‘Mandate Revision on addition of reference’ |
User action |
‘MCR’ |
|
‘Eng. Doc. #’ |
|
‘Others’ |
|
‘MCR-Eng. Doc’ |
|
‘All’ |
Not Allowed to save / modify any 'MCR / Eng. Doc/ others" details |
If Engineering document is in 'Fresh' status, on save with 'Edit' mode, Eng. Doc. # retains the same revision # and the status remains in 'Fresh' status.
When the ‘Eng. Doc.’ radio button is selected, the system allows you to add engineering documents in ‘Fresh”, “Released” or “Revised” status.
For a Direct Eng. Doc., if a 'MCR #' - 'Revision #' combination without a Process Change Request is added, the system generates a Process Change Request.
For each MCR #, the system updates the corresponding values for the Eng. Doc # - Rev. # combination from the “Effectivity” tab, to the “Process Change Request” page. The system considers the Maintenance Objects that are effective for both MCR # - Rev. # and Eng. Doc # and Rev. #, if applicability of MCR # - Rev. # and Eng. Doc - Rev. # are same, Else all the maintenance objects defined in the Eng. Doc #, with Applicable? as "Yes" ate considered.
The system updates all the effectivity details to the “Process Change Request” page, for each MCR #. While copying the maintenance object details like Aircraft Reg #, Part # and Serial #, the system considers the Maintenance Objects that are effective for both MCR # - Rev. # and Eng. Doc # and Rev. #, if applicability of MCR # - Rev. # and Eng. Doc - Rev. # are same.
When an engineering document say, ‘E2’ is mapped as a reference for the engineering document ‘E1’, on save, the reference of ‘E2’ is updated in ‘E1’. On deleting ‘E2’ reference from ’E1’, ‘E1’ reference is deleted from ‘E2’.
Allows the user to delete a record from the multiline. On successful deletion, the system removes the Eng. Doc. Reference details from MCR's PCR. Note that the deleted MCR must not be a part of the released Eng. Doc.
Select the “View MCR Details” link to view the maintenance change request details.
Select the “View MCR Processing details” link to view the MCR processing details.
To proceed further
Select the “Main” tab to create / edit revise an engineering document.
Select the “Effectivity” tab to defined effectivity details.
Select the “Tasks” tab to define task details.
Select the “Schedules” tab to define schedules for tasks in engineering document.
Select the “More Information” tab to record additional details like cost details, warranty details for the engineering document.
