Managing Process Plan
This activity allows creating a process plan to manufacture a part, creating a new standard task in the Task Master and revising the process plan by adding / removing tasks.
Select the “Manage Process Plan” activity under the “Process Plan” business component.
The “Manage Process Plan” page appears.
Process Plan List
Enter the following in the “Process Plan List” group box in the left pane:
Process Plan # |
The number identifying process plan for which you wish to retrieve the details. Smart Search is enabled to select process plan. |
Ref. Date |
The reference date for which you wish to retrieve the process plan details. |
Click the “Get” pushbutton to retrieve the list of all the process plans for the specified date. If the Ref. Date is not entered, the system retrieves the search results for the current system date.
Check the following box:
Show Inactive Revisions |
Select this check box to display the active and inactive revisions of the entered process plans. |
Process Plan Details
The system displays the following in the “Manage Process Plan” group box:

The numbering identifying the process plan mentioned by the user. |
Enter the following:
Process Plan Description |
The textual description of the process plan. |
Process Plan Type |
Use the drop-down list box and select the process plan type as “Standard” or “Specific”. |
PP Category |
Use the drop-down list and select the process plan category. The system lists all the active values defined for the Entity “Process Plan” and Quick Code Type “PP Category” in the “Manage Quick Code” activity of the “Common Master” business component. |
Long Description |
The long description of the process plan. |
Revision # |
Use the drop-down list box to find all the revisions done. By default, the revision # which is active on Ref. date is displayed. |
The system displays the following:
Status |
The status of the process plan which could be “Fresh”, “Active”, or “In-Active”. |
Effective From / To |
The date range in which the process plan revision is active. |
Revision Remarks |
Any remarks related to the revision of the process plan. |
Revision Source |
The source of revision of the process plan, which could be “Manual”. |
Create new process plan
Click the “Create” pushbutton to refresh the existing process plan details create a new process plan.
The system performs the following on clicking ‘Create’ button:
‘Process Plan #’, ‘Process Plan description’, ’Long description’ and ‘Effective From’ are made editable
Hides the revision details
Copy process plan
Click the “Process Plan” link to copy the process plan details.

The system displays the following in the multiline:

New Task? |
Use the drop-down list and select “Yes” or “No” to indicate whether the task defined in the process plan is new or not. |
Task # |
The number identifying the task. The task entered must be of Applicability other than “Aircraft”. You must enter a valid task number of the ‘New Task?’ is set as “No”. |
Task Description |
The textual description of the task. |
The system displays the following:
Task Revision # |
The revision number of the task. |
Task Status |
The applicable status of the task. |
Relationship Type |
Indicates the relationship between the primary task and the related task. The valid options are "Block Schedule", "Concurrent - Group", "Concurrent - Specific", and "Concurrent - Conditional". |
Enter the following:
Execution Facility |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the location where the task can be executed. The system lists the values: “In-House”, “Out-Source” and “In-House & Out-Source”. |
Work Centre # |
Use the drop-down list box and select the work center responsible for executing the task. The system lists all the active work centers for which the user has access rights, and also the Execution Work centers and the Work Centers of type 'Shop'. |
Repair Agency # |
The code identifying the repair agency to which the part must be sent for repair. You must specify an active Repair Agency, only if Execution Facility is selected as “Out-Source” or “In-House and Out-Source”. Help facility available. |
Task Type |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the type of the task, which could be one of the following: “MPD", "CMM", "MOD", "Non Routine", "Others" or all "Active" quick codes with quick code type as "Task Type" . |
Task Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the category of the task. The system lists all the categories that are in the “Active” status, created in the “Create Quick Codes” activity. |
Operation Type |
Use the drop-down list box and select the operation type of the task as “Make”. |
WBS Code |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) Code indicating the attributes defined for identifying the task. Mandatory. The system lists all the values defined in ‘Active’ Status against the ‘Entity Type’ “WBS Code”, in the “Define Process Entities” activity of the “Common Masters” business component. |
Routing Reqd? |
Use the drop-down list box and select “Yes” or “No” to specify whether routing of parts are required to execute next task. |
ATA # |
The ATA number applicable for the task. Help facility available. |
Est. Man Hrs. |
The total man-hours estimated to complete the task. |
Est. Elapsed Time |
The total time estimated for completing the task. |
Time UOM |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the time unit for the estimated elapsed time. The system lists the values “Days”, “Hours” and “Minutes”. |
Note: You must specify ‘WBS Code’, ‘ATA #’, ‘Est. Man Hrs.’, ‘Est. Elapsed Time’, ‘Time UOM’, if the ‘New Task?’ is set as “Yes”.
The multiline displays the following:
Drawing Exists? |
Indicates whether drawing exists for the part manufactured by the task in the system or not. |
Output Qty. Type |
The type of the output quantity as recorded for the task in Maintenance Task, such as Fixed or Variable. |
Enter the following:
Standard Output Qty |
The average output quantity of the part manufactured by the task. By default, this field displays the value recorded for the task in Maintenance Task. Note: If Output Qty. Type is 'Fixed', Std. Output Qty for the task will be deemed as 1. However, you must enter a positive integer in the field, if Output Qty. Type for the task ‘Variable’. (Variable also means that the output quantity varies across process plans depending upon constraints in the work center). |
Long Description |
The long description of the task. |
Comments |
Any comments related to the task. |
The system displays the following:
Parent Task # |
The number identifying the parent task for the selected constituent task. |
Message Centre |
The error message displayed when processing the records in the multiline. |
Created by & Date |
The name of the user who created the record and the date on which the record was created. |
Last Modified by & Date |
The name of the user who last modified the record and the date on which the record was last modified. |
Click the “Manage Schedule Relationships of Tasks” link to update schedule relationship of the task with its predecessor.
Re-Number
Click the “Re-Number” option in the button combo to re-sequence the records in the multiline.
Note: The system sorts all the records in the ascending order of 'Seq No' and renumbers the records in the multiples of '5'.
Click the “Get Related Tasks” option in the button to retrieve the related tasks for the task in the multiline.
Note: This button is not displayed if the process plan is newly created by clicking the “Create” pushbutton.
Reference Details
Enter the following:
Approval Reference |
Any reference details entered while approving the process plan. |
Processing Remarks |
Any remarks entered while processing the records. |
Additional Remarks |
Any additional remarks entered by the user. |
Save
Click the “Save” pushbutton to save the process plan details.
The system updates the process plan status as "Fresh" for the newly created process plan.
Approve
Click the “Approve” pushbutton to approve the process plan details.
The process plan revision status is changed as “Active”.
Inactive
Click the “Inactive” pushbutton to inactivate the process plan details.
The process plan can be inactivated, only when the Process Plan is in “Active” or “Fresh” status.
Note: The ‘Approve’ and ‘Inactive’ buttons are visible, if the process plan status is “Active” and “Fresh”.
To proceed carry out the following:
Select the “Edit Task Information” link to modify the task details.
Select the “View Task Information” link to view the task details.
Select the “Manage Task Relationship” link to define relation between the tasks.
Select the “Manage Engineering Drawing” link to upload engineering drawings for tasks mentioned in the Process Plan.

Record Statistics
The system displays the following:
