Creating a family coverage category
Select the "Create Family Coverage Category" link from the left pane.
The "Create Family Coverage Category" page appears.
The system displays the following fields.
Date Format |
The date that is applicable to the login user. |

If the user does not define the date format, the system will display the date format applicable to the Organization Unit; this date format is predefined in the “Enterprise Modeller Company Definitions” |
Benefits General Info Unit |
From the drop-down list box select the organization unit from for which family coverage category must be defined. The drop-down list box displays all the organization units in which the Benefits General Information component has been deployed and interacts with the login organization unit. |
Enter the following fields
Family Coverage Code |
A unique code to identify the family coverage. |
Family Coverage Short Description |
A brief description to identify the family coverage category. |
Family Coverage Description |
The full description of the family coverage category |

For example, if you have identified the family coverage code as “FA002”, you can enter “FMCVRG.” as the short description and “Family Coverage” as the long description. |
Choose the relationships, by selecting the check box that pertains to the relationship to be covered in the coverage category. Each of the relationship is described below
Spouse |
Select the check box to indicate that the wife/husband of the person who enrolls is covered. |
Dependents |
Select the check box to indicate that the dependents other than spouse are allowed in the coverage category. For example, parents, sisters, brothers etc. if you have selected this option, you must enter the maximum number of dependents allowed in the “Maximum Dependents Allowed” field. |
Maximum Dependents Allowed |
Enter the maximum number of dependents allowed for each relationship. For example, if you have selected relationship as “Brother” in the “Relationship” drop-down list box, you must also enter the maximum number of brothers that can be covered. |
Relationship Restriction |
Select the check box to indicate that there are restrictions on the maximum number of persons to be covered under each relationship. |
To create relationships restrictions
Ensure that you have selected the “Relationship Restriction” check box.
Enter the following details in the multiline.
Relationship |
From the drop-down list box, select the relationship for which restrictions are to be created. By default the system will default with blank value. The drop-down list box displays all the relationship values defined in the General Masters Component. |
Maximum Dependents Allowed |
Enter the maximum number of dependents allowed for each relationship. For example, if you have selected relationship as “Brother” in the “Relationship” drop-down list box, you must also enter the maximum number of brothers that can be covered. |

Note: The actual mapping of the family coverage record to the organizational units is carried out in a separate page called “Map Org. Units”.
You can enter opinions, comments and other details if any, in the “Comments” field.
Select the “Save” pushbutton to create the new family coverage category.
To Proceed
Click the "Org. Unit Mapping" link to map the benefit year record to the organizational unit.
