Creating Primary Participant Eligibility Profile
Select the “Create Primary Participant Eligibility Profile” hyperlink from the left pane.
The “Create Primary Participant Eligibility Profile” page appears.
The system displays the following.

The date format applicable to the login user. More Details |
Enter or select the following to create an eligibility profile for a plan:
Benefits Eligibility Definition Unit |
The name of the organization unit in which the benefits eligibility definition unit has been deployed. If there is more than one value, the system displays “Select” as the default value in the drop-down list box. From the “Benefits Eligibility Definition Unit” drop-down list box, select the organization unit for which the eligibility profile has to be created. Tell me more |

The unique code to identify the eligibility profile. |
Eligibility Profile Short Description |
The unique short description of the eligibility profile |
Eligibility Profile Long Description |
A brief description of the eligibility profile |
Effective From |
The date from which the profile comes into effect. |
Enter the details of the profile:
Age |
The drop-down list box displays "Less than", "Greater Than”, and “Equal to". By default the drop-down list box will display “[N.A.] ". To indicate the age of the employee should be greater than, less than or equal to a certain age, select the required option from the drop-down list box and enter the age in the field beside. For example, to indicate the age as greater than 25, you must select “Greater Than” option from the drop-down list box, and enter 25 in the field beside. |
Date of Birth |
The drop-down list box displays "As on or before", "As on or after”, and “Equal to". By default the drop-down list box will display " [N.A.] ". To indicate the date of birth the employee should be as on, before or after a certain age, select the required option from the drop-down list box and enter the date in the field beside. For example, to indicate the person must be born as on or before 01 Jan 1970, you must select “As on or before” option from the drop-down list box, and enter 01 Jan 1970 beside in the date format as applicable to the login user. |
Length of Service |
The period of service that the employee must have completed in the organization. The drop-down list box displays "Less than", "Greater Than”, and “Equal to". By default the drop-down list box will display “[N.A.] ". To indicate the length of service should be greater than, less than or equal to a certain period, select the required option from the drop-down list box and enter the period in the field beside. You must also select the unit of the period i.e. months or years from the second drop-down list box. By default the second drop-down list box displays two values viz., years and months. By default it will display with a blank value. For example, to indicate the length of service must be greater than 2 years, you must select “Greater Than” option from the first drop-down list box, enter 2 in the field beside and select “Year” option in the second drop-down list box. |
Date of Hire |
The date on which the employee has joined the organization. The drop-down list box displays "Less than", "Greater Than”, and “Equal to". By default the drop-down list box will display " [N.A.] ". To indicate the date of hire should be greater than, less than or equal to a certain date, select the required option from the drop-down list box and enter the date in the field beside. For example, to indicate the person joined before 01 Jan 2000, you must select “less than” option from the drop-down list box, and enter the date, 01 Jan 2000 in the field beside in the format applicable to the login user. |
Reference Period |
From the drop-down list box select “Hire Date” to indicate that the period of service starts from the hire date. Select the Rehire Date to indicate that the period of service starts with rehire date. |
Employment Status |
To indicate if the employee is still employed in the organization or separated etc., select the appropriate option from the drop-down list box. The drop-down list box displays list of all the options defined in the HRMS General Masters. Examples are "Current", "Separated" etc. |
FLSA |
The status of FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938) from the drop-down list box select “Exempt” to indicate that the employee is exempted from FLSA and select “Non-exempt” to indicate that the employee is not exempted in the FLSA. |
Union Affiliation |
From the drop-down list box select “Yes” to indicate that the employee must be affiliated to a union. Select “No” to indicate that the employee should not be affiliated to a union. By default the system will display with " [N.A.] ". |
Employer Reason |
The employer reason for separation. Examples, death, disability etc. The drop-down list box displays list of all the options defined in the quick codes of HRMS General Masters. |
Marital Status |
The marital status of the employee. For ex. Married, divorced, etc. The drop-down list box displays list of all the options defined in the HRMS General Masters. |
Disability |
Disability refers to the details of the physical disability of an employee which prevent or hinder undertaking certain types of assignments, either permanently or temporarily, depending on the extent of the disability which might be complete or partial. Examples are blind, deaf etc. The drop-down list box displays list of all the options defined in the quick codes of HRMS General Masters. By default the drop-down list box will display with " [N.A.] ". |
Employee Type |
To indicate if the employee is a regular employee or hired on contract basis etc. Select the appropriate option from the drop-down list box. The system list values such as "Regular", "Contract", "Consultant" "Volunteer" etc. The drop-down list box displays list of all the options defined in the HRMS General Masters. |
Service Area Description |
The drop-down list box displays list of all the options defined in the “Create Postal Service Area” activity of Benefits General Information component. |
Benefit Association Code |
The unique code to identify a benefits association in which the employee must be enrolled. |
Zip |
Enter the zip code of the participant. |

Choose the organizational units to which the created eligibility profile details will be made available. The options in the drop-down list box are described below

You can enter opinions, comments and other details if any, in the “Comments” field.
You can enter them in the field or select the book icon. The system displays a pop up dialogue box.
You can enter the content in the dialog box and select “Ok” pushbutton to save the details entered in the dialog box.
Select the “Cancel” pushbutton in the dialog box to return to the page without saving the details entered.
Select the “Save” pushbutton to create an eligibility profile.

Select specify other criteria for eligibility select “Specify Employment Criteria” hyperlink.
To specify the applicability of the eligibility profile to various organization units, select the “Org. Unit Mapping” hyperlink.
