Defining calculation rules
Select the “Define Calculation Rules” link at the bottom of the page.
The “Define Calculation Rules” page will be displayed.
The system will display the following details.

Benefit Definitions Unit |
Select the organization unit in which you must create calculation rules. The drop-down list box displays all the organization units where you have permission to define calculation rules. Tell me more |
In the salary group box, select the values based on which the value of the salary will be taken for various calculations.
Salary |
From the drop-down list box, select the option based on which the value of the salary will be taken while computing premium amount of a plan. The drop-down list box contains two values, that is, “Current” and “As on”. “Current” indicates that the system will take the salary value as on the date of processing. “As On” indicates that the system will take value of the salary as on the date specified. You must also specify the date in the field. |
Salary Rule |
The rule name based on which the salary is determined. |
Element |
The pay element that will determine the salary of an employee for enrolling in a plan. |
To determine age for enrolling in the plan
Age |
From the drop-down list box select the option based on which the age of the person will be taken at the time of computing premium amount of a plan. Service Months |

The rule name that determines the enrollment of a person for a plan. |
Amendment |
The rule name that determines various amendments for enrollments |
Deletion |
The rule name that determines the deletion of enrollment |
Actual Hours Rule |
The rule name that determines the actual number of hours worked. |
Always Refer Processed Eligibility |
Select the check box if the processed eligibility details of the employee must be referred before enrolling in a plan. |
Take Premium Existing On Enrollment |
Select the check box to indicate that the premium amount is computed as on the date of enrollment. |
Take Premium While Processing |
Select the check box to indicate that the premium amount is computed as on date of processing a premium plan. |
Grade wise Plan – GL Accounting Mapping |
Select the check box to indicate that the mapping of accounts to a plan is based on grades. |
Grade Set Wise Plan – GL Account Mapping |
Select the check box to indicate that the mapping of accounts to a plan is based on grade sets |

Select the “Save Rules” pushbutton to save the details entered.
