Modifying cost element structure details
This page allows you to modify the details of the cost element structure. You can modify the variables defined for a node. You can also modify the values required for printing the reports pertaining to the cost element structure along with the formula details. This page also allows you to include new formula required for generating the report.
Select the “Edit Structure” link provided in the “Select Cost Element Structure” page.
The “Edit Cost Element Structure” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Status |
The status of the cost element structure. It must be “Active”. |
CE Structure ID |
The code identifying the cost element structure. |
Modify the following field if required:
Description |
A textual description of the cost element structure (Alphanumeric, 40). |
The system displays the following in the “Cost Element Details” multiline:
Row ID |
The number identifying each node in the structure. |
Type |
The type of the node. It could be “Element” or “Header”. |

A textual description of the type of the structure. |
Cost Element From |
The starting code in the range of cost element codes that has been mapped to the node. |
To |
The ending code in the range of cost element codes that has been mapped to the node. |
Modify the following fields if required in the “Cost Element Details” multiline:
Variable |
The code identifying the variable (Alphanumeric, 20). |
Note: The value entered in this field must not be an integer or a decimal.
Reverse |
Use the drop-down list box to set whether you want parentheses to be printed while taking a report of the cost elements available in the selected row. You can select from “Yes” or “No”. |

Round Off |
Use the drop-down list box to set the value to which the decimal must be rounded off while printing reports. You can select from "0.1", "0.01", "1", "10", "100" or "1000". |

Use the drop-down list box to set whether the details pertaining to the node must be printed while taking a report. You can select from “Yes” or “No”. |
Click the “Edit Structure” pushbutton to save the modifications made to the structure.
The system saves the modifications made to the structure. The system also updates the login ID of the user and the system in the “Last Modified By” and the “Last Modified Date” fields.
Modify the following fields if required in the “Formula Details” multiline:
After Row ID |
The number identifying the row after which the formula result must be printed (Alphanumeric, 4). |
Formula ID |
The code identifying the formula (Alphanumeric, 20). |
The system displays the following in the “Formula Details” multiline:
Description |
The description of the formula. |
Formula Content |
The expression used in the formula. |
Modify the following fields if required in the “Formula Details” multiline:
Reverse |
Use the drop-down list box to set whether you want parentheses to be printed along with the formula in the report. You can select from “Yes” or “No”. |

Use the drop-down list box to set the value to which the decimal must be rounded off while printing reports. You can select from "0.1", "0.01", "1", "10", "100" or "1000". |

Click the “Append Formula” pushbutton to include the formula in the cost element structure.
The system saves the modified formula in the cost center structure.
The system displays the following:
Created By |
The login ID of the user who created the cost element structure. |
Created Date |
The date on which the cost element structure was created. |
Last Modified By |
The login ID of the user who last modified the cost element structure. |
Last Modified Date |
The date on which the cost element structure was last modified. |
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “Edit Tree” link at the bottom of the page to modify the details of the tree structure.
Select the “Create Formula” link at the bottom of the page to create a new formula.
Select the “View Cost Element Structure” link at the bottom of the page to view the details of a cost element structure.
