Work Monitoring and Control - An Overview

The “Work Monitoring and Control” business component enables the shop supervisors to plan work for the mechanics/employees and review the status of the tasks. The main objective is to enable the supervisors to perform all the system activities including timesheet booking for the mechanics. This allows the mechanics to work only on the aircraft and reduce their system activities.

Manage Work Assignments / Reporting

The “Manage Work Assignments & Reporting” activity enables the supervisor to accomplish the following:

• Plan the work.

•  Assign work to the employee.

• Perform timesheet booking for the employees.

• Review the work-in progress situation.

The activity has two different sections:

Review Work

The aircraft for which the maintenance activities are planned for a specified date range, can be retrieved and displayed in the left pane in the “Gantt Chart” section. The shop / hangar supervisors can plan the work for the mechanics and review the status of the task against the package.  

Manage Employee Work

The supervisors can assign work, report work actuals and modify the work actuals against an employee, using this section.

Update Work Estimates

The business component also facilitates the user to estimate, update and confirm part and resource requirements for a shop work order or Aircraft Maintenance Execution (AME). The “Edit Work Estimates” activity allows the users to perform the following:

• Estimate the number of parts and/or resources required by the mechanic for completing each task within a shop work order.

• Update part / resource requirements.

• Confirm part / resource requirements.
