Sequencing tasks for execution
Select the “Sequence Tasks” tab in the “Manage Unified Task Sequence” page.
Select the following:
Display Option |
Use the drop-down list box to select the display option for records in the multiline. The drop-down list box displays the following: By Repair Sequence # and By Task. Select
|
Eliminate Duplicate? |
Select the check box to disallow repetition of parts in the sequence. This check box is enabled only if you have selected “By Repair Sequence #” as the display option. Select the check box to display only one instance of the "Rep. Seq # and "Task #" combination against the sequence control #. To retrieve all repair sequence #s for the sequence control #, do not select the check box. |
Select the “Get Details” pushbutton to displays details of the sequence control # in the multiline.
Enter the following in the multiline.
Rep. Seq. # |
The repair sequence number for execution of the task on the part, Mandatory. The repair sequence # you specify must be a positive integer. This field is available only if you select “By Repair Scheme #” as the display option. Note: 1) You cannot assign the same repair sequence number to different tasks in a sequence control. 2) Further, you cannot assign a repair sequence number to more than one task, if the tasks belong to the same repair scheme. This implies same tasks from different repair schemes can hold identical repair sequence numbers while tasks belonging to one repair scheme cannot have identical repair sequence numbers. |
The multiline retrieves repair tasks from the repair schemes of those tasks that are mapped to the sequence control in the “Map Tasks to Seq. Control #” tab. However, only those repair tasks with WBS codes that have the process parameter “WBS level?” set as 'Leaf’ in the Common Masters component are retrieved in this tab.
Task # |
The task related to the task mapped to the sequence control # in the “Map Tasks To Seq. Control #” page. Typically, these tasks are associated with WBS codes with process parameters
|
Parent Rep. Scheme # |
The parent task of the related task. |
Root Rep. Scheme # |
The root task associated with the related task. |
Operator # |
The airline operator to which the task is effective. |
Task Desc. |
The short name/description for the related task. |
Parent WBS Code |
The WBS code of the parent task. |
Root WBS Code |
The WBS code of the root task. |
Note: Columns Parent Rep Scheme #, Parent WBS Code, Root Repair Scheme and Root WBS Code are available in the multiline only if you have selected “By Task” as the display option.
Repair Scheme Count |
The number of times the task can be executed in the repair scheme. This column is not available, if you have selected “By Task” as the display option. |
Remarks |
Additional information on the master sequencing of tasks for the repair sequence #. |
Orig. Seq. # |
The repair sequence number of the task as set for the first time. This field displays value only if the repair sequence number has been modified at least once. |
Exec. Phase |
The execution phase of the task, such as Preparatory, Regular and Post Flight. |
Enter the following in the multiline.
Seq. Control? |
Use the drop-down list box to indicate the requirement of sequence control for tasks. The drop-down list box displays the following: Required", "Not Required", "Across Phases" and "Within Phases". Note: If the WBS code of the task has the "Sequence Control definition allowed?" process parameter set to "Yes”, you can set this field to “Required", "Across Phases" or "Within Phases". On the contrary, if this process parameter set to "No", you must set this field to only “Not Required”. |
Seq. Modification |
Use the drop-down list box to indicate whether sequence modification for tasks is allowed. The drop-down list box displays the following: "Allowed" and "Not Allowed". |
The multiline displays the following.
Last Modified Date |
The date on which the order of execution for tasks was most recently modified. |
Last Modified By |
The user ID of the employee who most recently modified the order of execution of tasks. |
Select the “Re-Sequence” pushbutton
Based on the multiplication factor specified in the Set Options activity, the system generates new repair sequence numbers in the “Rep. Seq. #” column. The system generates repair sequence numbers for some or all of the tasks.
Select the “Update Seq. Number” pushbutton
The system saves the repair sequence numbers against the sequence control #. It also updates the repair sequence #s, if modified. If modified for the first time, the old repair sequence #s are saved in the Orig. Seq. # field. The Orig. Seq. # field retains these first time values and, further changes to the repair sequence # do not impact Orig. Seq. #s.
The repair sequence numbers for tasks are also updated in the repair schemes of the root tasks.
To proceed
Select the “Map Parts To Seq. Control #” tab to map parts to the sequence control.
Select the “Map Tasks to Seq. Control #” tab to sequence tasks for the sequence control.
More details – Sequencing tasks
In the “Sequence Tasks” tab, you can set the order of execution of tasks for the sequence control #.
This tab retrieves all the related tasks defined in the Maintain Repair Scheme for those tasks that you have associated with the sequence control # in the “Map Tasks to Sequence Control #” tab. However, only those related tasks with WBS code that have the WBS Level process parameter set to ‘2’ are retrieved here. You can set the execution order of these related tasks using the repair sequence # (Rep. Seq. #) field.
You can also reset the execution order of tasks for sequence control #. The system automatically generates new the repair sequence numbers on the basis of “Re-Sequence Multiplication Factor” that is defined in the Set Options activity.
All repair sequence numbers of tasks are copied in the repair schemes of root tasks.
