Defining Action Rules
This tab enables the user to define the action sequence based on the various part attributes which should be defined to give input to the MRP engine to take action against a MRP run.
Enter the following fields in the “Search” section:
Part # |
The number identifying the part. Help facility available. |
Part Description |
The description of the part. |
Part Type |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the part type. The system lists the part types for which the action rules are defined. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |
Part Group |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the part group. The system lists all the part groups for which the action rules are defined. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |
Part Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the part category. The system lists all the part categories for which the action rules are defined. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |
Part Source |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the part source. The system lists the values “Make”, “Purchase” and “Make & Purchase” along with a blank value. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |
Click the “Get” pushbutton to retrieve the action rules defined based on the part attributes.
Enter the following fields in the “Action Rules” multiline.
Part Type |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the part type. The system lists the part types such as “Component”, “Consumable”, “Kit”, “Miscellaneous”, “Raw Material”, “Expendable” and “Tool” along with a blank value. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |
Part Group |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the part group. The system lists all the ‘active’ part groups defined under purpose ‘Material Requirement Planning’ in the “Create Part/Service Groups” activity in the “part Administration” business component along with a blank value. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |
Part Category |
Use the drop-down list box to select the part category. The system lists all the part categories defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity of the “Part Administration” business component along with a blank value. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |
Part # |

The system displays the following fields in the “Record Statistics” section:
Last Modified by |
The name of the user who last modified the record. |
Last Modified Date |
The date on which the record was last updated. |
To proceed carry out the following:
Select the “Time & Quantity Fence” tab to define the time and quantity limit for the action to be performed.
