This page allows to select modify a flight code. Tell me more.
Select the “Edit flight Code” link under the “Flight Assignment” business component.
The “Edit Flight Code” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date & Time Format |
The format in which the date & time field is to be entered. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date & time format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default |
Enter the following filter criteria in the “Search Criteria” group box, to search for a flight code. Data entry in the following fields is optional.
Flight # |
The flight number for which the details are to be modified (Alphanumeric, 30). You can enter the flight number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all flight numbers with numbers that are similar to the number entered here. |
Leg # |
The number identifying the leg of the flight (Integer). If no leg number is entered, the system assumes the flight to contain a single leg. |
From Station |
Use the drop-down list box to select the station where the journey starts. The system lists all the “Active” stations defined in the “Create Station” activity of the “Common Masters” business component. |
To Station |
Use the drop-down list box to select the destination station of the flight. The system lists all the stations defined in the “Create Station“ activity of the “Common Masters” business component and leaves the field blank by default. |
Std. Departure Time |
The standard departure time of the flight event for which the flight code is created. (Time Format). Ensure that the time entered in this field is in the format specified in the “Date & Time Format” field. |
Std. Arrival Time |
The standard arrival time of the flight event. (Time Format). The estimated travel duration is added with the standard departure time to arrive at the standard arrival time. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the fight code to be modified, which could be “Active” or “Inactive”. Leave this field blank to retrieve flight codes irrespective of the status. The system leaves the field blank by default. |
Planning Region |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the region. The system lists all the active regions that are defined in the “Maintain Region” activity in the “Common Masters” business component. By default, the system leaves this field blank. |
Click on the “Search” pushbutton.
The system displays the following data in the “Search Results” multiline.
Flight # |
The flight number for which the details are being modified. |
Leg # |
The number identifying the leg of the flight. If no leg number is displayed, it indicates that the flight contains a single leg. In this case, the multiline would contain a single record. |
Modify the following details, if required:
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the status of the flight code to “Active” or “Inactive”. |
Note: Set the status as “Inactive”, to disable the flight code from future reference in other activities.
From Station |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the station where the journey starts. The system lists all the “Active” stations defined in the “Create Station” activity of the “Common Masters” business component. Data selection in this field is mandatory. |
Std. Departure Gate # |
The number identifying the standard gate in the terminal, from which the flight departs (Alphanumeric, 24). The gate number entered here must be a valid gate defined for the specified departure station in the “Maintain Gate” activity of the “Common Masters” business component, and should be in “Active” status. |
To Station |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the destination station of the flight. The system lists all the stations defined in the “Create Station“ activity of the “Common Masters” business component and leaves the field blank by default. Data selection in this field is mandatory. |
Note: If more than one leg is specified, the “To station” of the previous leg should be the “From station” of the next leg. The combination of “From Station” and “To Station” should be unique in the multiline.
Std. Arrival Gate # |
The number identifying the standard gate in the terminal, in which the flight arrives (Alphanumeric, 24). The gate number entered here must be a valid gate defined for the specified arrival station in the “Maintain Gate” activity of the “Common Masters” business component, and should be in “Active” status. |
Std. Departure Time |
The standard departure time of the flight event for which the flight code is created. (Time Format). Mandatory. Ensure that the time entered in this field is in the format specified in the “Time Format” field. |
The system displays the following:
Std. Arrival Time |
The standard arrival time of the flight event. The estimated travel duration is added with the standard departure time to arrive at the standard arrival time. |
Enter the following:
Time unit |
Use the drop-down list box to select the unit in which the time duration is measured. The system displays the option “Yes” and “No”. The system sets this field to “Time” by default. |
Est. Travel Duration |
The estimated journey time from the scheduled source to destination. The travel duration time is measured in terms of the unit specified in the “Time Unit” field. |
Aircraft Model # |
The number identifying the aircraft model (Alphanumeric, 20). The aircraft model number must be defined in the “Aircraft” business component. Help facility available. |
Start Maint. Event |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the maintenance event performed before the start of the journey. The system lists the options “Pre-Flight Checks” and “In-transit Checks”. By default, the system leaves this field blank. |
End Maint. Event |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the maintenance event performed at the end of the journey. The system lists the options “In-transit Checks” and “RON Checks”. By default, the system leaves this field blank. |
Crew Change ? |
Use the drop-down list box and select "Yes", if a crew change has been planned. Select “No” otherwise. By default, the system leaves this field blank. |
Planning Region |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the region for planning the aircraft routing. The system lists all the active regions that are defined in the “Maintain Region” activity in the “Common Masters” business component. By default, the system leaves this field blank. |
Reference Time Zone |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the reference time zone. Mandatory. The system lists the options “UTC” and “Local”. By default, the system leaves this field blank. |
The system displays the following:
Created By |
The name of the user who created the flight code. |
Created Date |
The date on which the flight code was created. |
Last Modified By |
The name of the user who last modified the flight code information. |
Last Modified Date |
The date on which the flight code was last modified. |
Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline, to mark the flight number and leg number combination to update the model effectivity and alternate station details.
Click the “Edit Flight Code” pushbutton, to update the flight code details.
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “Edit Model Effectivity” link at the bottom of the page, to assign aircraft models for the flight code.
Select the “Edit Alternate Stations” link at the bottom of the page, to identify alternate destinations for the flight event.
Modifying flight code – An overview
In this page, you can select a flight code to be modified. If you know the exact flight code to be modified, you can directly enter it. Otherwise, you can carry out a search based on the flight number, leg number, standard departure time, standard arrival time, station, region and the status of the flight code.
Based on the search criteria, the system displays details such as flight number, leg number, source and destination station, standard departure time/gate, estimated travel duration and standard arrival time/gate. The system also displays the status of the flight code.
The status of a flight code is “Active” by default. You can change the status to “Inactive”, if the flight code is not in use.
