Create Customer Group – A summary of the activity
This activity allows you to group customers under a single entity called “Customer Group”. The grouping of customer is primarily done for the purpose of dunning, pricing or billing. It can also be done for review and analytical purposes.
Customer groups can be classified as controlled groups or user-defined groups.
Controlled groups – Facilitate grouping customers under a predefined group type in the system. For example, the customers who are liable to pay taxes and charges on the sale can be grouped under the controlled group type named “TAX”. You can associate taxes and charges rules (defined at both document and item level) with this group for taxation purposes.
User-defined groups – Facilitate grouping customers according to user’s requirements. You can group customers who share the same location under a customer group termed as “Location”.
In this activity, you can provide a unique identifier and description for the customer group. You are allowed to identify the customer group as a controlled or user-defined group. You can associate customers with the customer group created. The system updates the details and sets the status of the customer group as “Active”.
