Create Work Scope – A summary of the activity
This activity allows you to create a work scope. The work scope is a document that contains the information regarding the work units or jobs that need to be performed on the component. In this activity you can identify the work units that are yet to be executed on the component for which maintenance planning is being done.
A work scope is created under the following conditions:
A snag is observed in a component and the component is taken to the warehouse. The work units that must be performed for rectifying the snag can be added to the work scope.
Components which are due for any maintenance work, can be routed to the workcenter from the unserviceable warehouse with the work scope, irrespective of the condition.
An engineering order or fleet campaign directive is released for the carrying out an engineering change. The work units that are pending in the Eng. Doc can be added to the work scope.
A defect is observed in the component and the repair work is performed. However, certain work units are deferred from execution due to reasons such as non-availability of resources and unfavourable shop conditions. Such deferred work units can be added to the work scope.
After creating the work scope you can release it based on the options set in the "Set Options" activity. You can manually release the work scope in this activity during its creation. A component work order or repair order can be created for executing the work scope on the component.

You can create a work scope that contains the details of pending work units to be performed as a part of the forecast. You can select a component and create a work scope.
