Approve Deferrals – A summary of the activity

The execution center raises the deferment request for approval. The component maintenance planner approves such requests created by the execution centers. During the next allocation, the planner also considers the deferred components, if the schedule falls in his allocation period.

The “Approve Deferrals” activity allows you to process the deferment request of pending work units.

You can either approve or reject the deferment of a work unit. You can also modify the details of the deferment request and the deferral limits of the work units.

Process deferment requests

You can process a deferment request, which is in the “Confirmed” status.

• Search and select the deferment request(s) in the “Select Deferment Request” page.

• Approve or reject the selected deferment request(s) by clicking the appropriate pushbuttons

Process the deferral of work units in a deferment request

You can process the deferment request. You can either approve the deferral of work units.

• Search and select a deferment request in the “Select Deferment Request” page.

• Select the “Process Deferment Request” link at the bottom of the page.

The system lists the work units in the deferment request, in the “Approve Deferment Request” page.

• Approve or reject the deferral of work unit in the multiline and click the “Process Request” pushbutton.

Modify the deferment request details and deferral limits for a work unit

You can modify the deferment details before processing a deferment request. You can modify the deferral type and the reason category of the deferment request. You can modify the comments pertaining to the deferment of the work units. You can also modify the deferral limits for the work unit.

• Search and select a deferment request in the “Select Deferment Request” page.

• Click the “Process Deferment Request” link at the bottom of the page.

The system displays the “Approve Deferment Request” page.

• Select the “Edit Deferment Request Details” link at the bottom of the page.

The system displays the “Edit Deferment Request Details” page.

• Use the “Edit Deferment Request Details” page, to modify the deferment details.

• Select the “Edit Deferral Limits” link at the bottom of the page.

The system displays the “Edit Schedules Information” page.

• Use the “Edit Deferment Schedules Information” page to modify the deferral limits of a work unit.
