Maintaining customer account groups
In this page you can create or modify the details, and activate or inactivate a customer group. Tell me more
Select “Maintain Customer Account Group” link under the “Account Group” business component.
The “Maintain Customer Account Group” page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default. |
Enter the following in the “Search Criteria” group box:
Customer Account Group |
A unique code identifying the customer account group (Alphanumeric, 20). You can enter this code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the part groups whose codes are similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank to search for all part groups irrespective of their group codes. |
Account Group Description |
A textual description of the customer account group (Alphanumeric, 100). You can enter this description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the groups whose descriptions are similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank to search for all groups irrespective of the group description. |
Note: Only those account groups created in the current login OU can be modified.
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select status of the customer account groups that are to be retrieved. The system displays the options “Active” and “Inactive” or leaves the field blank. The system leaves the field blank, by default. |
Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results.
Modify the details in the “Customer Account Group Details” multiline, if necessary:
Customer Account Group |
A unique code identifying the account group under which the customer is to be grouped (Alphanumeric, 20). Mandatory |
Account Group Description |
A textual description of the account group (Alphanumeric, 100). Mandatory. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to select the status of the customer account groups that are to be retrieved. The system displays the options “Active” and “Inactive” or leaves the field blank. |
Note: You cannot inactivate the account groups that are associated with other customers.
Created By |
The name of the person who created the account group. |
Created Date |
The date on which the group type was created. |
Last Modified By |
The login ID of the employee who last modified the account group. |
Last Modified Date |
The date on which the account group was last modified. |
Check the box in the multiline to select the customer account group.
Click the “Maintain Account Groups” to save the customer account group types.
Note: The multiline should contain at least one line of data.
To delete customer account group
Select the check box of the customer account group record that you want to delete, in the multiline.
Select the Delete icon in the tool bar under the Search Results.
The customer account group is removed from the database.
Note: You can not delete / inactivate a customer account group if a customer is mapped to it.
To proceed, carry out the following
Check the box in the multiline to select the customer account group.
Select “Associate Customers” link at the bottom of the page to associate the customer account group with customers.
Maintaining customer account groups – An Overview
In this page you can create or modify the details, and activate or inactivate a customer group.
If the customer account group is being created for the first time, you can enter the customer account group, description and status. If a customer account group already exists, you can search for it and modify the customer account group, description and status. You can also inactivate the selected customer account group. The system saves the login ID of the user and the date of creation along with the modification details.
