Smart Operations - component overview

In the Aviation Industry, when it comes to airframe maintenance, a number of activities are involved including overhaul, repair and inspection of the aircraft. Such maintenance involves many tasks performed by airframe mechanics who are involved in continuous checks and repairs. This requires him to carry a task card that spells out exactly the tasks to be performed by him. However, it is inconvenient to carry a task card of the task that he is working on wherever he goes.

Smart Operations is a feature designed for such a mechanic to enhance his user experience in recording various work actions, more easily and quickly eliminating wasted time. Under this feature Barcode labels are printed on the task card cover sheet or package cover sheet depending on the one that is used by the Mechanic to carry out his work.

This feature enables the mechanic to accomplish many actions with just a single scan of a Barcode that can be easily carried along with him during his day-to-day work.

Since the labels are printed on the respective task card itself, the barcode labels are encoded with the Task # or Discrepancy # along with the required actions such as ‘Start Clock’ or ‘Stop Clock’ and so on. Therefore as all the required information is encoded in the label, the mechanic can perform all his task-level actions in just a single scan of the barcode labels.

This is not only fast but also reliable as it eliminates possibility of human error and is less time consuming. With smart operations speed and accuracy can be improved.
