Record Time Sheet - A summary of the activity

Prerequisites

A time sheet refers to the entry of all the project details, for a specific day. Preparing and submitting the time sheet by the 2nd of every month is mandatory for each employee in the organization.

Through this activity, you can record the number of work hours put in for each project, for each day for an employee. This project-wise, date-wise information can be entered in bulk or on a daily basis. Work hours consist of the sum of regular and overtime hours.

After you complete the time sheet information, you can save it. The system will automatically assign the saved document a “draft” status. Subsequently, you can retrieve the draft any number of times and edit the time sheet information. A search facility is available, by means of which you can retrieve the drafts that you created during a given date range or the drafts of a specific status of an employee.

After you have finalized the draft, you are to submit it. When it is submitted, the system will automatically assign the submitted document an ”authorized” status. The authorized time sheet information cannot be either edited or deleted.

Note: It is not essential to first save the document. You can directly submit it.

The information you supply in the time sheet aids the system to calculate the overtime efforts put in by the employee. Hence, if the number of hours exceeds the normal shift hours per day, the system will prompt you to request for the processing of your overtime hours. Conversely if the employee has worked for less than the normal shift hours,  the remainder of the  shift hours is treated as leave.

This activity determines the overtime hours you put in; overtime refers to the hours beyond the shift hours. If hours worked per day exceeds shift period, subsequent tasks for overtime processing are created.
