Billing Consolidation – A summary of the activity

Through this activity, you can consolidate and generate the billing details for a combination of project, purchase order and range of dates. Timesheet entries determine the cost incurred for all the employees against the project and are used for the purpose of billing.

At the outset, select the project. The system retrieves the purchase order details associated to the project.

Billing Block: You must define the billing block, which refers to the purchase order and the period for which billing is computed. You can select the billing block, which forms the basis for retrieving the time booking entries of the employees and facilitates in consolidating the billing amount based on the effort. You can generate a billing block, which can be edited or deleted in future, if required.

Retrieving Employees’ for Billing Consolidation: The system retrieves the details of the employees whose time booking falls between the dates specified in the billing block. You can narrow the search by selectively retrieving the required employees by entering the search criteria. The system thus retrieves the employees for whom you can edit the billable hours, which will be the actual hours which is billed against the employee.

Upon save or submit, the system computes the billed effort and the total billable amount. The system also computes the Actual Billed Amount, which is the sum of the billed amounts of all the billing blocks in the purchase order and the Actual Billed Effort, which is the is sum of the billed hours of all the billing blocks in the purchase order.

Additionally, the system computes and displays the variance between the billed effort and billable effort, variance between the billed amount and the billable amount.
