Recording employment equity plan
Select the “Employment Equity Plan” link under the “Employer Equity Setup Act” business component.
The “Employment Equity Plan” page appears.
The system displays the following field.
Date Format |
The date format applicable to the login user. Tell me more. |
Statutory Setup Unit |
From the drop-down list box, select the organization unit of the employer. Tell me more. |
Employment Equity Plan Code |
The code identifying the employment equity plan. Help available. |
Employment Equity Plan Description |
The description of the employment equity plan. |
Plan From Date |
The starting date from which the employment equity plan is effective. |
Plan To Date |
The ending date within which the employment equity plan is effective. |
Plan Status |
From the drop-down list box, select the plan status. The system displays the options “Open” or “closed”. |
Specify the numerical goals to be achieved for recruitment of employees
Enter the following.
Numerical Goals |
From the drop-down list box, select the numerical goals for which you must record the employer equity plan details. Example, "Occupational Category - Including Disabled", "Occupational Level - Only Disabled". |
Select the "Load" pushbutton.
Enter the following in the “Numerical Goals” multiline:
Occupation Category/Level |
From the drop-down list box, select the occupation category or level. The system loads the values applicable for the Occupational Category or Occupational Level based on the numerical goals selected. |
Gender |
From the drop-down list box, select the gender for which the numeric goals is to be specified. |
African |
The number of employees, planned for recruitment, who are African. |
Colored |
The number of employees, planned for recruitment, who are Colored. |
Indian |
The number of employees, planned for recruitment, who are Indians. |
White |
The number of employees, planned for recruitment, who are White. |
Foreign National |
The number of foreigners to be recruited as per the equity plan. |
Total |
The total number of recruited employees, which is the sum of the employees who are African, Colored, Indian and White for the selected occupational category and gender. |
The system displays the following in the “Summary” multiline.
Category |
The category of the employees recruited which could be “Permanent Employees” or “Non – Permanent Employees”. |
African |
The number of African employees planned for recruitment for the employee category. |
Colored |
The number of Colored employees planned for recruitment for the employee category. |
Indian |
The number of Indian employees planned for recruitment for the employee category. |
Foreign National |
The number of foreigners planned to be recruited for the employee category. |
White |
The number of White employees planned for recruitment for the employee category. |
Specify the target year of achievement
Enter the in target year for achievement in the “Target Year To Achieve Plan” field.
Indicate the stakeholders who have been consulted
The system displays the following in the “Consultation – Prior to Plan Development” multiline:

The stakeholders who can be consulted for the equity plan. The system may display the following options for the stakeholders to be consulted:

From the drop-down list box, select “Yes”, if the stakeholder has been consulted, else select “No”. |
To specify the level of stakeholders agreement and periodicity for consultation
Enter the following:
Level of Agreement Reached |
From the drop-down list box, select the level of agreement reached by the stakeholder for the equity plan. The system lists the options “None”, “Some”, “Sufficient” and “Total”. |
Stakeholders Meeting Periodicity |
From the drop-down list box, select the frequency period according to which the stakeholders have been consulted. The system lists the options “Weekly”, “Quarterly”, “Monthly”, “Yearly” and “Other”. |
To record the employer equity plan details
Select the “Save” pushbutton.
To delete existing equity plan details
Select the “Delete” pushbutton.
To retrieve/modify the employer equity plan details
Enter the Employment Equity Plan Code. Help available.
Select the "Get" pushbutton.
The system retrieves the details.
Edit the details, if required.
Select the “Save” pushbutton.
