Providers: Typically, provider refers to an external service provider who forms a cornerstone of many reimbursement schemes.
The provider enters into an agreement with the Company, to render services to the employees. The Company pays the provider for these services, to the extent to which the employee is eligible for reimbursement. When an employee avails treatment from a hospital, and the company settles the bills with the hospital in accordance with the eligibility of the employee, the hospital serves as an example of provider. Other examples of providers are medical facilities, consultancy services, hospitals, clinics etc.
