Map Payset to Employee - A summary of the activity

Through this activity, you can specify the various employees who will constitute a payset. When you map a given number of employees to a payset, it implies that these employees will share common pay elements based on which the pay is calculated.

When an employee is mapped to a payset, you must specify his assignment number; you must also specify whether the mapping is to the primary payroll or not. The primary payroll is the one that computes the employee’s regular pay.

Note that for an assignment you cannot map an employee to more than one payset that is attached to the primary payroll.

Associating with Process Periods: You must also define the range of process period(s) for which the mapping is effective. A process period is defined as the date range for which employee’s pay is processed.

For example, the employee E1 is mapped to payset P1, from process period 01 to Process period 10. This indicates that the employee payset mapping is effective from process period 01 to 10. From process period 11, the system will not take into account the mapping of the payset with the employee.

You can also specify only the process period from which the mapping comes into effect. For Example, If an employee E2 is mapped to ‘Executive payset” from process period 02.This indicates that from process period 02, the system will take into account the mapping of employee E2 with “Executive Payset and will continue to process till the record is unmapped. To unmap the mapping, you can specify the process period till which the mapping should be effective.

Specify whether the mapping is pertained to the arrears: You can also specify whether the employee – payset mapping is applicable to the process periods, which have already been processed.

Through this activity, you can also modify the existing payset- employee mapping. For Example, you can change the range of process periods, assignment number of an employee etc.
