Processing an increment set
Select the “Process Increment Set” link under the “Increments” component.
The “Process Increments” page appears.
Enter the following
Increment Unit |
From the “Increment Unit” drop-down list box, select the organization unit for which you require the increment set to be processed. |
Increment Set ID |
Enter the code of the increment set that must be processed. Help available |
Select the “Get Details” pushbutton.
The system displays the following details of the increment set:
Increment Set Description |
The name or description of the increment set |
Increment Type |
Either “Scale based” or “Non-scale based” is displayed, to indicate whether the increment amount will be based on the employee’s scale. |
Increment Pattern |
Either “Anniversary” or “Adhoc” is displayed, to indicate the frequency for assigning the increment set to the employees. “Anniversary” indicates that the increment set will be updated to the employee’s base salary after every one year from the employee’s date of joining. “Adhoc” indicates that the increment set is updated to the employee’s base salary at other user-defined frequencies. |
Enter the following
Increment Month |
From the drop-down list box, choose the month for which you require eligible employees to be retrieved, for increment set processing. See Example. Enter the year, in the adjacent field. The system will retrieve the records of those employees whose last effective date of increment is one year before the month you selected. |
Enter the following
Increment Effective From Date |
Enter the date from which the increment value will be effective. |
Select the “Save Parameters” pushbutton, to save the parameters entered.
The Session ID is generated.
Select the “Process” pushbutton, to process the employee records
The system displays the following fields
Session ID |
The session ID uniquely identifies the increment set processing that a system carries out on a specified set or batch of employee records. |
Process Status |
The status of the increment set processing; this will be “Initiated”. |

Use this page to process an increment set, for the eligible employees under an organization unit.
Example for anniversary-based increment pattern
You defined an increment set called Time-based Increment on January 1 2002, whose increment pattern is anniversary-based. Given below are the dates of the last increments of 4 employees.
Employee-B Last Increment Effective Date = Dec 20 2000
Employee-C Last Increment Effective Date = Jan 10 2001
Employee-D Last Increment Effective Date = Jan 15 2001
Employee-E Last Increment Effective Date = March 20 2001
Processing on Jan 25: On January 25 2002, you request the system to process this increment set, and specify the Increment Month as January 2002. The system will process the increments for
Employee-B Last Increment Effective Date = Dec 20 2000
Employee-C Last Increment Effective Date = Jan 10 2001
Employee-D Last Increment Effective Date = Jan 15 2001
Reprocessing on March 25: On March 25 2002, you request the system to process this same increment set, and specify the Increment Month as March. The system will process the increments for
Employee-E Last Increment Effective Date = March 20 2001
Employees eligible for the increment month
For example, if you chose Feb 2002, the system will retrieve
Employees who have completed 1 year since their date of joining or their last increment date
Employees who have completed more than 1 year, but whose increment was missed out because of some other reason such as the employee’s probation not getting declared.
