Set Payroll Parameters- A summary of the activity
Through the “Set Payroll Parameters” activity, you can set the parameters that will determine the functioning of the payroll process. Parameters are the attributes that will determine the functioning of the payroll business process. For example, you can specify that payroll accounting must be at the grade set level. This indicates that the accounting of the payroll will be based on grade sets. Similarly you can specify payroll accounting must be at the grade level, You can categorize these parameters under four heads:
General Payroll Parameters: Payroll parameters will determine the way the data will be displayed in the system. These parameters will consist of “From date/ To date of process period should fall in Accounting Period”, “Process period alias is mandatory” and default payset basis. You can also specfiy the bucket size that will influence the bulk of processing. Bucket size indicates the number of records that the system will take as batch and process
Accounting parameters: The parameters that will effect the accounting of the payroll entries. You can specify either Grade wise Accounting or Grade Set Wise Accounting.
Interface with ARS: You are to specify whether the payroll interacts with attendance recording system (ARS).
Interface with Business Processes: You are to indicate whether the payroll interacts with with other business process like the “Financials”, Benefits, reimbursements, ande “Sales Incentives” process.
Besides these parameters, you can also specify the bucket size for a payroll, salary accounting, salary payments and payroll attendance process.
