Through the Appraisal Processing component, you can accomplish the following:

Before initiating the appraisal, you are to request the system to carry out a readiness check through the “Appraisal Processing” component. The readiness check that the system carries out ensures that all the employee records under the appraisal calendar and appraisal type meet the prerequisites for initiation. Typical prerequisites could be that appraisers are defined for each employee, objectives are defined for all employee-appraiser mappings etc.

After carrying out the readiness check, the system generates an error log to display the details of the employee records that do not meet the prerequisites. You can carry out the remedial actions.

After all the employee appraisal records are ready for initiation, you can initiate the appraisal process.  Initiating implies that you request the system to automatically send email notifications to all the participants of the appraisal exercise. The participants consist of the appraises/employees, appraisers, countersigning officers and HR users. The administrator will specify the message in the email that will set off the appraisal exercise.

After all the participants of the appraisal exercise have completed their allotted tasks in the appraisal, you can request the system to process the employee appraisals. Processing implies closing the appraisals at bulk level. In response to your request, the system will identify all the employee records under the appraisal code and appraisal type, and check out that all the employee records under the appraisal calendar and appraisal type meet the prerequisites for closure. Typical prerequisites could be that appraisers mapped to each employee have completed their performance appraisals and employees have completed feedback and acceptance.

After processing the employee appraisals, the system generates an error log to display the details of the employee records that do not meet the prerequisites. You can carry out the remedial actions, and process the records again.

After an appraisal calendar has been closed, you can open it once again, provided the valid period of the appraisal calendar has not lapsed. You can carry out the required modifications, process again and close the appraisal calendar.
