View Career Plan – A summary of the activity

Through this activity, an employee can view the details of the career plan that has been decided for him by the HR user/supervisor. The employee can access the “View Career Plan” activity, only if the employee career plan has been marked as “Show Plan to Employee”. Otherwise, the employee cannot view this activity.

Essentially, an employee career plan refers to the sequence of assignments or jobs that an employee undergoes during the entire span of his career, which are based on his skills and interests.
The career plan is recorded for the employee, in the “Employee Career Plan” component, and is derived in one of the following ways
¡ An existing career track for a job in the career plan is accessed, and additional information added to the career track, so that it evolves into a full-fledged career plan of the employee.
¡ The career aspirations of the employee are accessed, and the items of information edited if required, so that they develop into the employee’s career plan
¡ A new career plan is created, without deriving inputs from either career tracks or the employee’s career aspirations.
The career plan will contain the following items of information, for every job in the sequence:
¡ Sequence number of each job in the career plan
¡ Unit structure setup
¡ Job code and title
¡ Department code and description
¡ Position title
¡ Work location.
The career plan of the employee must be recorded in the "Record Career Plan" activity.
