View Employee Career Plan – A summary of the activity
Through this activity, you can retrieve an employee’s record and show the employee the career plan recorded for him or her. You can also show the employee his or her career fitment for any planned job within the career plan.
Retrieving an employee through an intelligent search: An intelligent search refers to retrieving the records of employees based on
The planned job attributes defined for them
Their actual job attributes
In both instances, you can specify the following search criteria: job title, department, position title, grade set, grade and work location.
For instance, you could base your search on planned job attributes, enter the date as “1 June 2004“ and specify the search criteria “job title=senior manager” and “department=human resource”. The system will retrieve the records of those employees for whom the job title “senior manager” and department “human resource” have been planned on 1 June 2004.
Similarly, you could base your search on actual job attributes, specify the search criteria “job title=senior manager” and “department=human resource”. The system will retrieve the records of those employees whose job titles are currently “senior manager” and whose departments are currently “human resource”.
The system displays the following details in the records of those employees who satisfy your search criteria: employment unit, employee code and name, job title and department. From these records, you can select the record of the employee who must be shown his or her career plan.
Viewing the career plan: The employee can view the following information about the career plan recorded for him or her:
Whether the employee has been earmarked as a fast tracker
Whether the career plan was based on (a) a career track for a planned job (b) a new career track (c) the employee’s career aspirations
The specifics of the career plan. The career plan will contain the following: Sequence number of each job in the career plan, unit structure setup, job code and title, department code and description, position title and work location.
Viewing the fitment for a specific job: The employee can also view his or her fitment for any specific job within the career plan. This means the employee can enter any date within the period of the career plan, and view
His or her possessed competencies for the planned job on this date, versus the required competencies for the job. The possessed competencies for this job are already predefined in the Competency component of HRMS Foundation. The required competencies for the job are predefined in the “Create Job” and “Create Position” activities under the Unit Structure component of HRMS Foundation. Note that the employee’s possessed competencies are constantly updated in the Competency component.
His or her qualification gaps, if any, for this job.
