Employee Career Plan – Overview
Through this component, a HR person can chart out a comprehensive career plan for every employee. He is scientifically assisted in this effort, by the accessibility of multiple career tracks. Each career track is a set of jobs that originate from a specific job; these jobs may or may not be part of a job progression.
Creating a career plan
The HR user can access these career tracks, settle on the one that most closely resembles the right-fit career plan for the employee, and work on the details until it evolves into a full-fledged career plan. The final career plan will cover a validity period, and contain a series of planned jobs in a desired sequence. To every job will be assigned job attributes such as position title, department and work location. A planned time segment is also assigned to every job.
Monitoring the employee's fitment for any job within the career plan
After this career plan of the employee is finalized, the HR user is also in a position to monitor the employee’s fitment for any specific job within the career plan. To render this exercise scientific, the system fetches the employee’s actual competency levels for this job; it also fetches the required competency levels for this job. The HR user, by viewing the employee’s progress in competency levels over a period of time, can discern the trend in the bridging of gap between required and possessed competency levels. Determining such trends helps him to monitor the employee’s fitment for any planned job within the scope of the career plan.
