Getting familiar with the activities inside

HRMS Application Tools is a component where the user can,

¡            Specify business rules for a business process.

¡            Define business rules & build stored procedure for all Components.

¡             Customize the field literals for a functional area within the Business Process to suit the organization’s business requirements.

Specifying Business Rules: To specify business rules, you are to use the ‘Specify Business Rule’ activity. Through this activity you can specify the business rules as may be applicable in the organization from time to time. An organization can define rules for Payroll – Encashment and Employee Induction – Promotion Transfer. You can select a rule type, for example, Payroll – Encashment Rule or Employee Induction – Promotion/Transfer Rule and specify the rule by which it should be put into effect. While specifying the rule to a rule type, you can also access help on stored procedure details.

Maintaining Business Rules: To maintain business rules, you are to use the ‘Maintain Business Rule’ activity. The need to define various business rules as applicable for an organization from time to time has caused this process to be included in HRMS tools. The rules are written as a Stored Procedure (SQL Format) using the Stored Procedure Builder. History Details are maintained for each of the Rule Type. Stored Procedure Builder: You can use the “Stored Procedure Builder” feature to specify new rules. Stored procedure is created for those functional areas where behavior, attribute and usage of an entity is very much dependent on the need of the client. Such functional areas cannot be covered entirely which in turn generates a need for stored procedure. Typical examples are Leave Eligibility Rule, Reimbursement Eligibility Rule, Pay Element values, etc. Also, you can set various types of access permissions to the business rules to users such as permissions to view, edit etc.

Maintaining Filed Literals Information: Through this activity you can maintain field literals information. You can customize certain field literals for a functional area within a specific business process, for all components, to suit your business requirement. Any field literal customization carried out from this interface will be reflected throughout the application wherever the field literal appears in that functional area of the business process. You can view the changes on launching the application again.

Note that you can also restore the value of the literal to the default value whenever necessary.
