Base Screen Extension Access
Overview
This activity enables you to provide access rights to the defined base screen extensions to users belonging to a specific role or organisation unit. You can also provide access rights to users for all roles or all organisation units.
Click the “Base Screen Extension Access” activity under “EDK – User Defined Screens” component.
The “Base Screen Extension Access” page appears.
Enter the following fields:
Role Name |
The name of the role available in the deployment for which you want to assign base screen extension access. Click |
Apply to all Role |
Click the checkbox to indicate that the base screen extension access applies to all roles. |
Organisation Unit Name |
The name of the organisation available in the deployment for which you want to assign base screen extension access. Click |
Apply to all Organisation Unit |
Click the checkbox to indicate that the base screen extension access applies to all organisation units. |
To view existing base screen extension access details
Enter any or all of the following fields in the “Filter Criteria” section of the page:
Base Business Process Name |
The name of the base business process whose extension access details you want to retrieve. You can specify the base business process name fully or partially using the “*” as wildcard character. All the base business process names similar to the value entered are retrieved and displayed. |
Base Component Name |
The name of the base component whose extension access details you want to retrieve. You can specify the base component name fully or partially using the “*” as wildcard character. All the base component names similar to the value entered are retrieved and displayed. |
Base Activity Name |
The name of the base activity whose extension access details you want to retrieve. You can specify the base activity name fully or partially using the “*” as wildcard character. All the base activity names similar to the value entered are retrieved and displayed. |
Base User Interface Name |
The name of the base user interface whose extension access details you want to retrieve. You can specify the base user interface name fully or partially using the “*” as wildcard character. All the base user interface names similar to the value entered are retrieved and displayed. |
Base Control Name |
The name of the base control whose extension access details you want to retrieve. You can specify the base control name fully or partially using the “*” as wildcard character. All the base control names similar to the value entered are retrieved and displayed. |
UDS Business Process Name |
The name of the UDS business process whose extension access details you want to retrieve. You can specify the UDS business process name fully or partially using the “*” as wildcard character. All the UDS business process names similar to the value entered are retrieved and displayed. |
UDS Component Name |
The name of the UDS component whose extension access details you want to retrieve. You can specify the UDS component name fully or partially using the “*” as wildcard character. All the UDS component names similar to the value entered are retrieved and displayed. |
UDS Activity Name |
The name of the UDS activity whose extension access details you want to retrieve. You can specify the UDS activity name fully or partially using the “*” as wildcard character. All the UDS activity names similar to the value entered are retrieved and displayed. |
UDS User Interface Name |
The name of the UDS user interface whose extension access details you want to retrieve. You can specify the UDS user interface name fully or partially using the “*” as wildcard character. All the UDS user interface names similar to the value entered are retrieved and displayed. |
Click “Get Extension Access Details”.
The system retrieves and displays the access details in the “Base Screen Extension Details” multiline.
To define base screen extension access
Enter the following details in the “Base Screen Extension Details” multiline:
Base User Interface Name |
The name of the base user interface. Click |
Base Control Name |
The name of the base control for which the Base screen extension is performed.

UDS User Interface Name |
The name of the UDS user interface. The UDS user interface is displayed when you specify the base user interface. |
The following details are displayed for the specified base user interface access:
Role Name |
The name of the role mapped for the specified base user interface access is displayed. |
Organisation Unit Name |
The name of the organisation unit mapped for the specified base user interface access is displayed. |
Base Business Process Name |
The name of the base business process to which the base user interface belongs. |
Base Component Name |
The name of the base component to which the base user interface belongs. |
Base Activity Name |
The name of the base activity to which the base user interface belongs. |
UDS Business Process |
The name of the UDS business process to which the UDS user interface belongs. |
UDS Component Name |
The name of the UDS component to which the UDS user interface belongs. |
UDS Activity Name |
The name of the UDS activity to which the UDS user interface belongs. |
Click “Save Extension Access Details”.
The system saves the base screen extension access details for the specified role and organisation unit.
Note:
The selected base screen extension is given rights based on the role and organisation unit combination.
If “Apply to all Role” is checked, then individual role name is not applicable. At least any one of the detail should be available.
If “Apply to all Organization Unit” is checked, then individual organisation unit name is not applicable. At least any one of the detail should be available.
