Issue Certificate of Maintenance – A summary of the activity

The aircraft and its components are expected to perform at a high level of safety and reliability during their operational usage. A variety of maintenance activities are carried out on the equipment to achieve this. The completion of execution of a maintenance activity might warrant a certification by a competent authority declaring that the equipment is deemed fit to resume normal operation. Certificate of Maintenance (CoM) is issued in this regard; it represents an undertaking (by the identified maintenance lead for the visit), that the maintenance activities have been executed as per the prescribed guidelines and the aircraft is fit for productive usage at the rated efficiency and reliability. A CoM certifies that the signatories are satisfied that the work has been properly carried out, having due regard to the use of,

• Up-to-date instructions including manuals, drawings, specifications, regulatory authority mandatory modifications or inspections and operator’s procedures,

• Recommended tooling and test equipment which were currently calibrated, where applicable,

• A working environment appropriate to the work being carried out.

Each CoM is identified by a unique system-generated number. The “Select Visit Package” page allows you to specify the search criteria to select the visit package for which you need to issue CoM. The “Issue Certificate of Maintenance” page allows you to create, authorize or cancel a CoM for the selected visit package.
