This tab provides the details of the issued parts that are pending for return or returned, based on the values available in the “Consolidated Part Return Details” tab. The system retrieves and displays the details of the parts issued against the shop work orders that are listed below the 'Pending Excess Return' folder or 'Returned Excess' folder, in the “Consolidated Part Return Details” tab.
You can also record the part consumption details, close the work orders and return the unused parts that are pending for return, to the warehouse.

On clicking the “Record Part Consumption” pushbutton, the system computes 'Pending Return Qty. - Core' and 'Pending Return Qty. - Excess' using the formulae given below:
Pending Return Qty. - Core = Used Qty - Returned Qty Core - Reconciled Qty Core.
Pending Return Qty. - Excess = Issued Quantity - Used Qty - Returned Qty Excess - Reconcile Qty Excess.
Check the box below the multiline:
Close work order |
Check this box to close the work order. The box appears unchecked, by default. |
Enter the following field:
Return Warehouse # |
Use the drop-down list box and select the warehouse to which the issued part must be returned. The system lists all the ‘Active’ warehouses defined in the “Storage Administration” business component. The system leaves the field blank, by default. Ensure that the Return Warehouse is specified here or in the multiline. In the selected rows, if ‘Return Warehouse #’ is not specified in the multiline, then part is returned to the Warehouse # selected in this field. |
Click the “Return Parts” pushbutton to return the excess parts to the warehouse.
The system ensures the following on clicking the “Return Parts” pushbutton:
Ensures that the Return Warehouse selected in the multiline or below the multiline, accepts the components of condition which is the current condition of the issued part, if the issued part to be returned is serial controlled, lot controlled or serial-lot controlled, and accepts the parts with stock status which is the current stock status of the issued part.
Note: The ‘Warehouse – Component Condition / Stock Status’ relation is defined in the “Edit Warehouse – Stock Status / Condition Allowed” page of the “Storage Administration” business component.
Ensures that the login user has access rights for the Return Warehouse selected in the multiline or below the multiline. The Login User - Warehouse # access privilege is defined in the “Storage Administration” business component.
Ensures that the Part Type of the Part # to be returned is allowed in the Return Warehouse selected in the multiline or below the multiline. ‘Warehouse # - Part Types Allowed’ mapping is defined in the “Storage Administration” business component.
If the Issued Part # / Mfr. Part # - Mfr. # available in the multiline is a 'Serial Controlled' part, the system ensures the following:
The Issued Part # - Serial # is not available in any other Return document which is in “Draft” or “Fresh” status.
The Issued Part # - Serial # is not available in any warehouse.
Ensures that the 'Pending Return Qty. - Core' or 'Pending Return Qty. - Excess' is greater than zero.
If “Close Work Order” check box is checked, the following are ensured:
All the direct and in-direct timesheet records recorded against the selected SWO # must have Timesheet Status as “Authorized”.
If the parameter 'Assembly Status Check on Closure?' is set as “Required” for the SWO Type in the “Common Master” business component, the assembly status of the Main Core Component # of the SWO # must be defined as "Complete" in the “Configuration” business component.
Note: The above rule is not applicable, if the main core part is not a serial-controlled part, or it is serial-controlled, but configuration does not exist for the main core part.
If the parameter 'Enforce Excess / Core Returns on Order Closure?' is set as "Yes" for the SWO Type “Common Master” business component, on closure of the SWO, the system ensures that no part is pending for return against the SWO #.
If the parameter 'CoM Reqd?' is set as “Required” for the SWO Type in the “Common Master” business component, on closure of the SWO, CoM must have been issued for the SWO # in “Authorized” status.
If the SWO has any task in “External Routed” status then, ensure that all the 'Repair Order' associated to that SWO has been closed.
The system performs the following on clicking the “Return Parts” pushbutton:
Creates Maintenance Return for the issued part. If more than one row is selected in the multiline, the system returns all the parts available in the selected rows, with one Return Document for each Warehouse # selected.
Note: On creating the return, the system displays the Latest Return # and the Return Warehosue #.
If the 'Pending Return Qty. - Core' and 'Pending Return Qty. - Excess' are greater than zero, the system creates two return documents, one for the quantity available in 'Pending Return Qty. - Core', with 'Return Basis' as "Core" and another for quantity available in 'Pending Return Qty. - Excess', with 'Return Basis' as "Excess". The 'Latest Return #' is updated with the latest created date & time.
If the Order Class of the shop work order is “External” and if the ‘Return Classification’ is modified, the system derives the Estimation Status of the work order, irrespective of whether estimation is required or not.
