Basics of using a typical web page

Using Online Help

The Define Rules popup appears.

The popup window displays the following:

Rule ID

The unique identifier for the rule.

Rule Description

The description of the rule.

Alert Rules For

The component reliability analysis for which you want to define rule, such as NFF or LTR.

First drop-down list

Use the drop-down list box to select the first variable in the rule expression. The drop-down list box displays options based on the value selected in the Alert Rules For field in the Manage Reliability Alert Definition page.

§  This drop-down list box displays:

o    “Avg. Time Since Attachment” and “Consecutive U/S Removals” only if the parameter 'Time Since Attachment based evaluation for LTR” is set as ‘Required’.

o    Further, both Avg. Time Since Attachment and Consecutive U/s Removals are mutually inclusive and must be defined together in a rule.

§  The system derives values for:

o    Avg. Time Since Attachment from the Re-Initialize-Update Parameter Values  activity

o    Consecutive U/S Removals from the Manage Component Removal Info. activity

§  If 'Alert Rules For' is 'NFF' , the drop-down list box also displays:

o    NFF :: 2 Month

o    2. NFF  :: 12 Months

o    3. NFF Rate  :: 2 Months

Second drop-down list

Use the drop-down list box to select arithmetic sign to be included between expressions. The drop-down list box displays:

§  Greater Than

§  Greater Than or Equal to

§  Lesser Than

§  Lesser Than or Equal to

§  Equal to

Third drop-down list box

Use the drop-down list box to select the second variable in the rule expression. The drop-down list box displays options based on the value selected in the Alert Rules For field in the Manage Reliability Alert Definition page.

The saved rule will be displayed in the Defined Rule Description field in the Rule Details multiline of Manage Fleet Alert Definition page.

An example of building rule

LHS <<Conditional Operator>> :: RHS <<Rule Operator>> LHS  <<<<Conditional Operator>>  :: RHS etc.,

The Conditional operator displays in RED color & The Rule operator in displays in GREEN color.

URR:: 3 Months GREATER THAN OR EQUAL TO  Alert Level AND U/s Removals :: 12  Months GREATER THAN OR EQUAL TO  3

U/s Removals:: 1 Months  GREATER THAN OR EQUAL TO  2 AND Parameter = FH AND Time Since Attachment LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO  100

An example for LTR evaluation rule

LTR = “Consecutive removals = 2 AND Avg. Time Since Attachment <= 100”

Current Date: 5-May-20; Last 3 removals of component P1 S1:

1.      15-May-2020 with TSA as on date as 90 FH

2.      30-Apr-2020 with TSA as on date as 85 FH

3.      17-Apr-2020 with TSA as on date as 110 FH

Applying LTR rule, TSA between removal instances (i) & (ii) will be 87.5 FH which is <= 100. Therefore, component P1 S1 will be flagged as LTR.
