Maintenance Asset Tracker – An overview
Fixed Assets are tangible/intangible items of property, plant, equipment and goodwill that are held by an enterprise for
Production or supply of goods and services,
Rental or lease to others or
Administrative uses.
Fixed assets are expected to be used for more than one accounting year.
In the aviation scenario, an airline operator can consider certain maintenance objects; facilities and capital inventory as fixed assets and record them in the Maintenance Asset Tracker, which is a repository for recording financial implications pertaining to the asset.
The “Maintenance Asset Tracker” business component helps you to identify the maintenance objects as ‘assets’ and associate them to an asset identifier.
Maintenance Asset Tracker (MAT) manages Asset Register reference for:
(1) Maintenance Objects - Aircraft & Components
(2) Inventoried Assets -Inventoried Components
(3) Facility Objects - Tool Ids, Other Facility object Ids
This business component also enables you to create asset records for the part automatically through "Maintain Asset Template" activity.
An asset identifier is a unique way of representing an asset in terms of an asset number and asset tag. The asset number and tag details are already defined in the “Asset Capitalization” business component.
