This tab allows you to record the revision details of the document. The revision policy of the document is updated here. You can update the revision details such as action on revision, superceding action, revision date, reasons for revision, revision implication, revision action status and revision interval in this tab page.
Select the “Revision Details/Policy” tab in the “Maintain Document Information” page, to update the revision details.
Enter the following fields in the “Revision Policy” group box:
Revision Cycle |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the revision cycle of the document. The system lists the following options
The system leaves this field blank by default. |
Revision Interval |
The interval between the previous revision and the current revision (Integer). Data entry in this field is mandatory, if the “Revision Cycle” field is set as “Periodic”. Ensure that you enter a positive value. |
Next. Rev Due On |
The date on which the next revision is due (Date Format). Data entry in this field is mandatory, when

If the “Revision Cycle” is set as “Periodic” and the “Next. Rev Due On” is not specified, then the system calculates the “Next Rev Due On” as follows:

If published is not available for the document then the system considers the receipt date of the document.
Action on Revision |
Use the drop-down list box to specify action to be taken on the current revision, if subsequent revisions of the same document # are registered later. The system lists the following options:
The system sets this field to “None” by default. |
Superceding Action |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the superceding action to be performed on the current revision, if subsequent revisions of the same document # are registered later . The system lists the options based on the value selected in the “Action on Revision” field. The system lists only the option “None”, if the “Action on revision” field is set as “None” or “As Required”. If the “Action on Revision” field is set as “Supercede Previous Revision”, the system lists the following options:
Data selection in this field is mandatory, if the “Action on Revision” field is set as “Supercede Previous Revision”. The system sets this field to “None” by default. |
Enter the following fields in the “Revision Details” group box:
Revision Date |
The date on which the document is revised (Date Format). The date entered here must be later than the published date of the revision number specified in the “Document Details” group box. |
Reason for Revision |
The reason for revising the document (Alphanumeric, 2000). Zoom facility available. |
Revision Remarks |
Any remarks pertaining to the revision of the document (Alphanumeric, 255). Zoom facility available. |
The system displays the following fields in the “Revision Details” group box:
Superceding Rev. # |
The superceding revision number of the document. The system displays the revision number, which has superceded the revision number specified in the “Document Details” group box. The system leaves this field blank, if no revision has superceded the revision number specified in the “Document Details” group box. |
Current Active Revision # |
The most recent and currently active revision number of the document. |
Note: If more than one revisions of the same document are in “Active” status, then the system displays the revision having the latest published date in the “Current Active Revision #” field.
If one or more active revisions have the same published date, then the system displays the revision number with the latest registered date.
If one ore more revisions have the same published date and registered date, then the system displays the revision number with the latest modified date.
Enter the following fields:
Revision Implication |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the implication due to the revision of the document. The system lists all the active quick codes of type “Revision Implications”, as defined in the “Maintain Quick Codes” activity of the “Library” business component. The system also lists the inactive quick code of type “Revision Implication” existing for the selected document and revision number combination By default, the system displays the default value set for the “Revision Implication” quick code type in the “Maintain Quick Codes” activity of the “Library” business component. Data selection in this field is mandatory, if the “Mandatory ?” field is set as “Yes” for the “Revision Implication” quick code type in the “Maintain Quick Codes” page of the “Library” business component. |
Revision Action Status |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the action to be taken with respect to the implication of the document revision. The system lists all the active quick codes of type “Revision Action Status”, as defined in the “Maintain Quick Codes” activity of the “Library” business component. The system also lists the inactive quick code of type “Revision Action Status” existing for the selected document and revision number combination. By default, the system displays the quick code for which “Default ?” field is set as “Yes” in the “Maintain Quick Codes” activity of the “Library” business component. Else the system leaves the field blank by default. |
Click the “Maintain Document Info” pushbutton in the main page to update the details of the selected document along with the revision details/policy.
To proceed, carry out the following:
Select the “Publisher / Source Details” tab in the main page, to update the publisher/source details.
Select the “Applicability Details” tab in the main page, to update the applicability details.
Select the “Other Details” tab in the main page, to update the other details.
