Viewing fault codes

This page allows you to view fault codes listed under the selected ATA chapter. Tell me more.

Select the hyperlinked ATA number in the multiline of the "Select ATA Chapter" page.

The “View Fault Codes” page appears.

The system displays the following in the “ATA Details” group box:

ATA #	The number identifying the ATA chapter under which the fault code you need to view is listed.
Chapter Description	The textual description of the ATA chapter.

Enter the following in the “Search Criteria” group box to search for a particular fault code belonging to the selected ATA chapter. Entry in these fields is optional.

Fault #	The fault code to be viewed (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the code in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the fault codes that are similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank to retrieve all the fault codes listed under the selected ATA chapter.
Key Word	The key word to identify the fault code to be viewed (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the key word in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the fault codes with key words that are similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank, if you wish to retrieve all the fault codes listed under the selected ATA chapter, irrespective of the key words.
Fault Category	Use the drop-down list box to specify the category of the fault code to be viewed. The system provides the options “Observed” and “Cabin”. The system retrieves all the fault codes whose category is similar to the value specified here. The system sets the field blank by default. Leave this field blank if you wish to retrieve all the fault codes listed under the selected ATA chapter, irrespective of their category.
Fault Code Type	Use the drop-down list box to specify the type of the fault code to be viewed. The system provides the options “OEM” and “Airline”. The system retrieves all the fault codes whose fault code type is similar to the value specified here. The system sets the field blank by default. Leave this field blank if you wish to retrieve all the fault codes listed under the selected ATA chapter, irrespective of their type.
Base Aircraft Model #	Use the drop-down list box to select the aircraft model for which the fault code must be viewed. The system lists all the aircraft model numbers defined in the “Aircraft” business component that are in the “Active” status. The system retrieves all fault codes that are applicable to the selected aircraft model number. Leave this field blank if you want to retrieve fault codes irrespective of the aircraft model number.
Model Description	The textual description of the base aircraft model number (Alphanumeric, 150). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system retrieves all the fault codes applicable to the aircraft model description specified here. Leave this field blank if you wish to retrieve fault codes irrespective of the aircraft model.

Note: Leave all the fields blank to retrieve all the fault codes defined in the system.

Click the “Search” pushbutton to display the search results in the multiline.

The system displays the following in the “Fault Details” multiline:

Base Aircraft Model #	The number identifying the base aircraft model to which fault codeis associated.
Fault #	The fault code retrieved by the system.
Status	The status of the fault code, which could be “Active”, “Inactive” or “Fresh”.
Fault Description	The textual description of the fault code.
Fault Particular	Any additional comments pertaining to the fault.
Fault Category	The category of the fault code as “Observed” or “Cabin”.
Fault Code Type	The fault code type as “OEM” or “Airline”.
Key Word	The key word that identifies the fault code.
Model Effectivity	Model effectivity denotes the fault code that is applicable to the aircraft model. The model effectivity of an aircraft can be one of the following: Single - When the fault code is associated to a single primary model. Multiple - When the fault code is associated to more than one model.

To proceed, carry out the following

Check the box in the “Select” column of the multiline to mark the fault code to view the model effectivity or cause code associated with it.
Select the “View Model Effectivity” link at the bottom of the page to view the model effectivity for the selected fault code.
Select the “View Cause Code” link at the bottom of the page to view the cause code for the selected fault code.

Viewing fault codes – An overview

This page allows you to view fault codes listed under the selected ATA chapter. You can further search for a particular fault code by entering search criteria such as the fault code number, key word, category, and type. The system displays the fault codes that match the filter criteria.

You can view cause code and model effectivity details based on the fault code under which they are grouped.

Enter the fault code number under which the cause code or model effectivity, which you need to view, is grouped.
Select the fault code listed in the multiline.
Select the “View Cause Code” link to view the cause code details.
Select the “View Model Effectivity” link to view the model effectivity details.
