Editing cause code details
This page allows you to modify the cause code. Tell me more.
Select the "Edit Cause Code" link under the "Fault Isolation Manual" business component.
The "Edit Cause Code" page appears.
The system displays the following:
Date Format |
The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the "User Preferences" business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the "Enterprise Modeling" business component by default. |
Enter the following in the "Search Criteria" group box, to search for a cause code. Entry in these fields is optional.
Cause # |
The cause code to be modified (Alphanumeric, 25). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the "*" character. The system retrieves all cause codes that are similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank, if you wish to retrieve cause codes irrespective of the cause number. |
Cause Description |
The textual description of the cause (Alphanumeric, 80). You can enter the description in full or specify it partially using the "*" character. The system retrieves all cause codes that are similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank, if you wish to retrieve cause codes irrespective of the cause code description. |
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to specify the status of the cause code as "Active" or "Inactive". Leave this field blank, if you wish to retrieve cause codes irrespective of the cause code status. The system sets the field blank by default. |
Base Aircraft Model # |
Use the drop-down list box to select the aircraft model for which the cause code must be modified. The system lists all the aircraft model numbers defined in the “Aircraft” business component that are in the “Active” status. The system retrieves all fault codes that are applicable to the selected aircraft model number. Leave this field blank if you want to retrieve cause codes irrespective of the aircraft model number. |
Click the "Search" pushbutton, to search for the cause codes.
The system displays the following in the "Cause Details" multiline:
Base Aircraft Model # |
The number identifying the base aircraft model to which cause codes have been associated. |
Cause # |
The cause code retrieved by the system. |
Enter the following field to modify the description of the cause code:
Cause Description |
The textual description of the cause code (Alphanumeric, 80). |
Note: The modified description of the cause code is updated in the associated fault code definition.
Status |
Use the drop-down list box to modify the status of the cause code as "Active" or "Inactive". Otherwise, the system sets the field to "Active" by default. |
The system displays the following:
Model Effectivity |
Model effectivity denotes the fault code that is applicable to the aircraft model, which can be either “Single” or “Multiple”. |
Created By |
The name of the user who created the cause code. |
Created Date |
The date, in the specified date format, on which the cause code was created. |
Last Modified By |
The name of the user who last modified the cause code. |
Last Modified Date |
The date, in the specified date format, on which the cause code was last modified. |
Click the "Edit Cause Code" pushbutton at the bottom of the page, to update the cause code.
The system updates the cause code details and sets the "Last Modified By" field to the login user name and the "Last Modified Date" field to the current server date.
To proceed, carry out the following
Select the “Edit Model Effectivity” link at the bottom of the page to modify the model effectivity details of a cause code.
Editing cause code details – An overview
This page allows you to select a cause code you need to modify. You can also search for a cause code, by specifying the cause number, cause description, status and the base aircraft model number. The system retrieves all the cause codes that match the specified criteria. You can also modify the model effectivity for the cause code.
