This page allows you to select an EAN for modification. If you know the EAN number, you can enter it directly. Tell me more.

The “Select Engg. Advice Note” page appears.

The system displays the following:

Date Format

The format in which the date fields are displayed in this page. This format is displayed from the “User Preferences” business component based on the login user ID. In case the format is not defined, the system displays the date format from the “Enterprise Modeling” business component by default.

Engg Advice Note #

A number identifying the EAN to be modified (Alphanumeric, 18).

Engg Advice Note #

The number identifying the EAN to be modified (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the EAN numbers that are similar to the value entered here. Leave the field blank to retrieve all the EANs defined in the system.

Note: The system will also retrieve revised EANs (if available), which are in “Fresh” status.

EAN Category

Use the drop-down list box to select the EAN category. The quick code must be of the type “EAN category” defined in the “Create Quick Codes” activity and must be in “Active” status.  Leave this field blank to retrieve all the EANs, irrespective of their category.

Engg Service Req #

The number identifying the ESR for which the EAN has to be modified (Alphanumeric, 18). You can enter the number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the EAN numbers that have ESR numbers similar to the value entered here. Leave the field blank to retrieve EANs irrespective of the ESR numbers.

ATA #

The ATA chapter number on which the ESR to be processed is raised (Alphanumeric, 16). You can enter the ATA number in full or specify it partially using the “*” character. The system displays all the ESRs that have been raised for ATA numbers that are similar to the value entered here. Leave this field blank to retrieve ESRs raised for all ATA numbers.

Applicability

Use the drop-down list box to select “Aircraft”, “Component” or “Engine”, for which the EAN is applicable. The system displays “Aircraft” by default.

User Status

Use the drop-down list box to select the user status. The system lists all the user status defined in the ”Create Quick Codes” activity that are in the “Active” status. Leave the field blank to retrieve EANs irrespective of the user status associated to them. The system leaves this field blank by default.

Note: If all the fields are left blank, the system retrieves all the EANs available for the login organization unit.

The system displays the following in the “Search Results” multiline, based on the search criteria entered:

Engg Advice Note #

The EAN number.

Revision #

The revision number of the selected EAN, if available.

Subject

The subject of the EAN.

ATA #

The ATA chapter number associated to the EAN.

Effectivity

The effectivity of the EAN. It could be either “Restricted” or “All”.

Restricted – Indicates that the EAN is applicable for only specific aircraft model, component or engine for which the EAN has been raised.

All – Indicates that the EAN is applicable for all the aircraft, component or engines having the same model number or serial numbers

Response Date

The date on which the EAN was created or revised.

Note: At least one EAN must be selected in the multiline for cancellation or for modification.

The status of the EAN is updated to “Cancelled”.

The selected EAN is disassociated from its corresponding ESR. The disassociated ESR will be available again for processing.

Selecting EAN for modification – An overview

This page allows you to select an EAN for modification. If you know the EAN number, you can enter it directly. Otherwise, you can carry out a search based on the engineering advice note number, the category to which the EAN belongs, the applicability of the ESR, the ATA chapter number associated to it and the user status. The system retrieves the EANs, which are in the “Fresh” status, based on the search criteria entered.

This page also allows you to select an EAN and cancel it. The engineering service requests associated to the cancelled EAN are disassociated from the EAN and are available again for processing. The status of the selected EAN is updated to “Cancelled”.
